here theres a new sheriff in town. ;D

Now he lives just down the road from me, they decided to elect him High Sheriff of the Island. Caused a lot of resentment from some quarters, but he is a good ambassador. Cuts quite a dash in his breeeches don't he.

Any relation to Bobby Shaftoe? ;D

oooh er - we agree once again.  However, I will spoil it by saying that the whole honours she bang should be redone and made into civil and military honours - not royal ones.  And then to paraphrase you valmarg - I would tell the Queen that she can keep the whole monarchy thing - might put it slightly less politely though ;D

PS - I quite like Alan Titchmarsh :-[
