Not much room at the Inn here, either.

I am trying to buy another Hall's mini-greenhouse from Focus but they are out of stock.  I managed to pick up Spear and Jackson's shelving unit and have put that up since these pics were taken.  OH came home with S & J's mini-greenhouse yesterday but it is only half the depth of Hall's and not quite as long so we will be taking it back.  It's more expensive too.  At this time of year I use the mini-greenhouse without it's cover in the cold greenhouse but put fleece over it at night.

My Tumbler F1 and Tumbling Toms are in flower but no sign of fruit yet.

gunnerbee

is your greenhouse heated? i noticed you have the white polystyrene things, ive just started scavinging those off our local market! they come in handy those!

Tee Gee

Tell me about it!!

I have come to the conclusion that the more space you have available the more you use.

Have a look at these;

Greenhouse 1;Top shelf

Greenhouse

Greenhouse 1 Middle shelf

Greenhouse 1 Bottom shelf;

Greenhouse 1 Hotbed;

Coldframe 1

Coldframe 2;

Coldframe 3;

Greenhouse 2;

Greenhouse 2;

Every year I say I will cut back on what I grow but does it work?

I'll tell you in 2009 ;D

No, it's not heated but I do cover everything in fleece at night and it remains on when we have bitterly cold, overcast days like today.

The polystyrene boxes have been very useful.  I got mine from the local pub.

If you survive this lot, TG!!

You're feeding how many??

theothermarg

None!!

They are not big enough for a good feed yet, the root ball won't have filled the cell/pot yet.

Plus what would I feed them on?

Certainly not Potash the weather is not warm enough to take it up, and I won't risk Nitrogen as this can make them grow soft putting them more at risk during a cold spell.

Bring them up hard is my motto, its my guess that more plants are lost due to pampering rather than starvation.

Reach For The Skies, Tim - the only way is up, and down it would seems as well  :)

After listening to a 'topical tip' recommending feeding potted on stuff now on Gardeners question time recently, I did wonder whether it would be neccessary, so thanks for that TG.  ;)
Smile, it confuses people.

Boy that looks so familier TG  ;D I have 2 greenhouses full mainly show fuchsias  and loads indoors as well and on the under cover area on the patio, only a small area of the allotment left to fill (help)!
Still there is always the bath  ;D
I only did 6 of each tomato this year and i still have way to many !!
And i got carried away last night and sowed more seeds  :P

Sorry about the misunderstanding Tim but on this forum I tend to think'plants' rather than family.

To answer your question; two directly and eight indirectly (2 kids & spouses + 4 Grandkids)

Most of the plants in greenhouse one & the coldframes are flowers not veg.

But with these the same numbers apply, i.e. there are 3 gardens to cater for!

tim

At least you'll never be lonely??

Biscombe

Yep, looks familiar! Putting more and more plants out now, so not looking as crowded in the greenhouse"

PurpleHeather

Yup

Had to evict plants from my (two) greenhouses with rows of staging to go under four full length cloches so that I could get enough room to plant more.

Hope to goodness that the fair weather comes soon so that more things can go outside where they should be.

The potatoes are now coming through which is reassuring because I thought they may have drowned.

Spring onions and radishes are through and the lettuce (undercover) looks well. We will soon have a salad.
