Books help,listening helps,looking helps.

But if it`s on again do try to watch `The Victorian Kitchen Garden`

Harry Dodson is the `star`-sadly he died a couple of years ago but I met that most wonderful man.

I`m not saying garden in a collar and tie-but watch him-modest,and yet more skill in one finger than I will ever have

The Victorian Kitchen Garden is being re-run on UKTV Gardens at the moment. I think it's on at 3.30pm

If it's Rosie's allotment - how come Muggins here does so much digging?

I still haven't watched all the series on DVD yet, now you've reminded me Cleo I'll have to dig it out.  ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

It's well worth it; I've watched them all several times.

I caught it for the first time a couple of months ago on UKTV Gardens and watched virutally the whole series out of order.  It is truly a great amongst veggie gardening programmes.  Heartily recommended. :)

It's one of my fave programmes.
Like you said, Harry is very modest, yet poor Alison never gets to talk. She just gets on with her chores.
It's nice to see how gardening was done years ago. The entire series has a lovely feel to it.

They're repeating Big Dig on uktv gardens as well at the moment.

It does bring home the difference between the old presenters such as Harry, Geoff H and Percy and the current ones.

The old ones were gardeners first and foremost and happy to imbibe their knowledge.

I stopped watching Monty et al 2 years ago but could watch the oldies all day long.
Best laid plans and all that
