Mushrooms

Hi Everyone,

Was looking for some more advice please ( hope I'm not being too cheeky?)

I have some mushroom spawn and was wondering how I go about planting it. I often heard you need to grow mushrooms in the dark?
What sort of soil/compost would I need? Would I be able to grow them in the shed?

Any advice would be much appreciated! I believe they are button mushrooms!

I bought a mushroom pack a few years ago, and gave up when I read the instructions!!!

i bought one this year read the instructions did everything according to the letter ie misting to dampen not getting the underneath stuff kept it covered etc only to find hubby had been watering really well cos it looked very dry soaked all the underneath stuff and it rotted and died was doing so well too.  MEN!  ::)
