Thinking of making some with whats left of the chillies and sending them out for chrsitmas presents

is it just as simple as putting a few whole chillies into some olive oil and leaving?

Also does anyone know where i can get hold of some nice bottles with cork stoppers?

No!!! Boil the chopped up dry chilis in vinegar then pour the oil over.

I've put chillies straight into the oil, just as I would  with herbs and other things - why do you need to boil in vinegar first  :-\

Everytime I've just bunged chili's, dry or fresh into oil, they go mouldy after a while! this way seems to beat this, don't know the science but It seems to work!

I did that too >:( What a waste of chillis and olive oil. I do it properly(boiling in vinegar) now and it does work ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.
