Just when I thought the blight was going to get the lot my early Russian decided to ripen.

They tasted amazing - had forgotten just how different to bought ones they are.  :)

Is it me? or is that a snap of a member of the pepper family, rather than a tomato???

Marymary

Woops - I'll try again.  :)

Had some GartenPearl, Sungold and Tangella so far...
Nice looking Pepper though..
;D

Oh Marymary... you're cruel, putting such magnificent pics of tomatoes on the site... I can almost taste them... not fair!

Sparkly

lovely - lucky you! I have decided to give up and pull my outdoor plants out today  :-\ They do not have blight, but look VERY sorry for themselves and have no fruits on yet. Boo Hoo

tim

Is that a Chilli or Pepper?

cleo

Things are not too bad here

Picked this morning

Is that Santa in there, Stephan?  And what are the others?

'Next door' just ate the last of our Santa, & a new one - Orange Queen. Bit sharp, the first of those.

These are Soleane & Nectar.

Hi Tim

From memory(and it`s raining hard so I`m not going back to check)

Red Zebra,Green Zebra,Sungold,Prudens Purple,Red Debarao,Matina Blaby
and Italian Heirloom.

I`ve stopped growing Santa in favour of Aunt Madge-only because the latter is not a hybrid and it helps keep the costs down

None of my bigger toms are ripe yet, but Sweet Olive and Gardeners Delight are now being picked, Tigerella looks as if it will be the next if the blight doesn't spread too far.......
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Thanks, Stephan. The Zebras are great, aren't they.

And, of course, your Debaraos did us proud a couple of years ago. Ten feet of growth!

Is that a Chilli or Pepper?

It's a Yankee Bell pepper from Real Seeds, very mild flavour but quite prolific.

Oh you lucky people! I don't think I'm going to get any tomatoes this year. The cold and wet has done for the outdoors one and the greenhouse ones have suffered from my infrequent visits to the lotties.

tim

Yes - we had to pull out our Tomazing outdoor ones.

I'm not sure what tomatoes I have as it was a pack of 3 free with a magazine!  ;D  The large ones are just about turning red, the small ones (gardeners delight I think!) are doing okay but the bush ones were utterly useless without a single tomato.  So they went out last week - they were making the place look untidy!

Now the d**n slugs are trying to muscle in, I might not mind so much but they have one bite out of every tomato within reach! If they just ate one whole one I might be willing to share!  ;) ::)

Yes, even in Glasgow, I have been picking Sungold for two weeks now in the greenhouse, and I even have some tomatoes surviving outdoors.

Nothing ripening for me yet, and I did think the yield was a bit sparse, but on close inspection I see many places where tom flowers were and now there is nuffink-just an arm. :-[ Aint it sad. Plot toms are suffering from neglect as  it's been a 'family first' kind of 3 weeks, but I shall go Saturday with my machette and see if I can find some.
Smile, it confuses people.

I had 2 ripe cherry tomatoes yesterday. Have hardly got any fruit on any tomato plant at all this year. Just tall healthy leafy plants really. Will leave them in the ground just in case......

Strange year KT, I noticed far fewer fruits on the plants even before they got blight, some like Maggie's where flowers have fallen off & not set & some plants just not producing any flowers until they were a metre or so tall.
