I have just got my dads fathers day gift to wrap, a bottle of whiskey called 'Redbreast'.

Its from an Irish distillary that closed down many years ago but dad drank this in his youth!!

ray's dad is 88 on saturday and then father's day on sunday..we've bought him the shrek movies on dvd for his birthday..they loved the first..and a sleeveless jacket padded with zippy pockets all over,for father's day,  he likes ray's so we got him one..it's a 'man' thing, apparently  ;D

Wish mine was around to actually open the card I always buy him.  :'(  I always feel a twinge of jealousy when my darling gives his dad his card and gift.  Miss mine terribly.

However, the urchins have each bought their dad a mug from school - something the PTA arrange and jointly they have got him a lovely new BBQ tool set to go with his lovely big BBQ.  Then, to christen said tool set, we have great mates and their urchins coming over for a barby and lashings and lashings of red wine, whilst the sprogs play in the pool, boing on the trampoline, clamber over the climbing frame and try to catch frogs in the pond.

'Redbreast' is a fine Whiskey indeed.

I dont drink the stuff myself, but i am sure he will enjoy it.

He wants a good set of knives for christmas so i am going to take him to harrods one day as hes in London and get him to pick out what he wants. That way we can all buy him a bit towards the set and it will sort a couple of christmases out.

Make sure he gives you some money for them!  Knives are an unlucky present.

Just ordered my dad a hamper with wild boar pate (serious pest here) even though I'm a veggie! rioja, organic gin and cheese! great company called gifting direct, saves on post from Spain!

Aren't trampolines wonderful? Even for Dads?

And I SO envy those who can still shop at Harrods. Mother lived within spitting distance.

This year I'm not getting my Dad anything, instead I will wait until he needs something and buy it. I do this for his B'day and xmas and it works a lot better than buying something I think he will like and then him going on about how much it cost  ::)

His younger brother and his wife are over from S.Africa at the moment, not seen them in 20 years so Father's Day is a little in the background for him :D

grrr, my card and pressie are lost in the post.  Can't be wrong postage as I had it weighed at work.

My girls got me a watering can, two boxes of growmore and a box of sulphate of ammonia, the two year old was singing happy birthday, I don't think shes quite got the hang of it yet.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
