Allotments 4 All

To have garden neighbors like these. One of the neighboring plot holders who,s garden is linked to a number of ours was quite ill some time back. Of course it had to be at the time of year when every thing had to be started to get his allotment up and planted. Thank goodness he got himself fit and well again and came back to what he thought would a wed ridden plot. Did he get a shock.

Aww, that's lovely. I've always felt bad that the chap who had our plot bfore us had to give it up through ill health. Wish I knew who he was so I could give him some veg to say thansk for putting down black plastic before he left it!

I was really sad when we lost one of the old guard... he struggled on for a season but after a below knee amputation he just couldn't keep it up!

we're trying to get eric 83, to stay on his plot, he's in hospital, having had a new knee, yesterday and his wife has dementia..we think he needs the plot as a place to get away from everything, i think it's brilliant, what was done for your mate..we're tryng to keep eric's going for him 'til he's back on his feet..or knee  ;D

What a brilliant story.  Allotmenteers are (mostly) such nice people.

my neighbour but one had a heart attack a few months ago, he's back, but just doing very light duties ... I do hope he is able to keep going

Spoke to a lady on my site today who had been very unwell last year but is battling on as it gets her away from the mayhem in her house !

Offered the the OH if she ever needed any heavy digging.   ;D
