Looked like it on the weather I saw just now.  :(

Is everyone going to cover things up?

it's a worry isn't? we've been forecast 2 oC for the last 4 days ??? We've just had hailstones

OllieC

They said a minimum of 4 or 5 down here, I'm going to take a chance. If they'd said anything lower, I'd be worried.

4 tonight for us too.

After a very chilly start, had a lovely day on the lottie, just one downpour about 5pm ish.

But just had hail here at home.  :o  We thought we were seeing things.

we covered up the newly planted squash yesterday because of the cold wind..I'm glad about it, it's been freezing here today  :)

Haven't planted my squash out on the lottie yet - have it all hardening off out in the gardening, so think I'll pop it all back in the coldframes for tonight then.  If everything'll fit!

Today, I saw that someone had planted out their sweetcorn on a Glasgow Allotment! It looked very unhappy in a very cold, biting North east wind.
As they say about humans, "ne'er cast a clout till May is oot", ( do not take off your woolly underwear till the end of May), semi-tropical plants would say the same, if they could talk!!

Don't think there will be a frost tonight but its very cold, wet and windy here. Kent.
All this talk has made me panic. I've  put my tomato's in hanging baskets, back in the cold green house for tonight. Keeping a eye on everything else.
Yes we had our summer in April!

It's overcast and a bit breezy here, so I'd say no chance of frost this time of year.

Forecasting 2 degrees here overnight, haven't planted anything tender out yet so no need to cover that. Am a bit worried about my fruit though, but too much to cover unfortunately. Have been picking strawberries for the last week, with all this rain I just hope it's cold enough to put the slugs off but not so cold as to damage the berries.

The Lovely Mr Sec on my lottie planted his sweetcorn out last weekend.  He's not been seen since !   :o  His sweetcorn was looking ok though.  Thankfully, I think he and me are in a sheltered spot on the site.

Which lottie were you on real food ?

I thought this referred to the mae flower rather than the month of may? I could be wrong mind you ...  ;D

Coventry forecast has been for a frost tomorrow night, but just noticed that the latest update has indicated 1 C. Cold enough to be of concern, but little I can do.
The impossible is just a journey away ...

It is currently 4 in my 'at home 'greenhouse. As I have just  re-sown about 60  of my collection of squash seeds after the vandals wrecked them a couple of weeks ago, and they are probably just germinating, I have given in and put the heater on.

Funny year.

Oh, I am definitely a little worried here in Manchester, have had the heating back on indoors as it is so cold, haven't been over the plot today, but have a lot of things planted and coming up nicely, so I am just going to keep my fingers crossed because I could never bring them all back in....

Even the tomatoes in my back garden are just going to have to shiver ... and hopefully survive! Oh well that's English weather for you... I still have a suntan from April and now I have my thermals back on!
