Hello, first post, (have done a search) ARE RUNNER BEAN SEEDS edible
Have absolutely loads.

You could save some for growing your next lot of runner beans.

When fresh - delicious! Dried? Don't know. Probably not.

But seed - yes.

we use our dried runner bean seeds in soups and things  ;D

I use them for anything you'd use a pulse for: a side veg and in casseroles of course, but as long as they're not too big you can mash cooked ones to make into patés or potato cake-a-likes or sausages. It's huge fun playing around and seeing what you end up with (Well it is to me). ;D  A Mexican book (or website) will probably give you loads of ideas.

Very edible, but need a 24 hour soak to soften and at least 40-60 mins cooking - nice in casseroles but need to be part ccoked to soften. Very delicious.

Thank you for the replies...will do some in the pressure cooker and freeze.
Red Rum mostly and another variety is jet black,slightly smaller, no name.
