Just LOOK at what No 2 daughter brought in from London!! (Sira's Asian market, in Southall).
She had to wait until the price came off its initial peak but, oh, so worth waiting for! You haven't lived until you've had Alphonsos. = Tim

Now I can honestly say I love most fruits and veg, but the one fruit I really can not stand is mango.  To me it has a metalic taste and is sooooooooo slimey.  Mine you, I love the smell, bet they smelled great Tim.

I know what you mean - some folk say 'turpentine'. But there's a world of difference between these & the fat green/red things from Peru et al. And mango icecream..............! = Tim

oooohh!  Mouthwatering just looking at them, Tim!  I adore mango - and have been suffering withdrawal because all you could get around here were South American ones which are vile, I think.  They taste of nothing ... or worse, they taste of something chemical!  Had to pay a huge amount for a South African one if M&S last week , but boy was it worth it!  Better than chocolate (and that's saying something!)   ;D

Mango with crab is great for a dinner party, halve them, score the and turn them inside out, place next to one another on a plate and put fresh crab in between with home made brandy cocktail sauce with a dash of tabasco.  Looks impressive tastes super.  Chezzie

Bombay mangoes ending - Pakistan fruit coming in - on the right.

First time I've had one - an AROMA 'Honey Mango' - nice 'warm' flavour, but prefer the others. Had it with Martin's 1/2 price lobster & 'spicy greens' salad.!! = Tim
