Went there a few years ago- I was really pleased to see how natural it looked, I'd expected it to be more formal. We went in august, but it was raining, so didn't get very good pics- yours are lovely. Thanks for the memories!

robkb

Thanks for posting the photos :D I went there about 12 years ago, glad to see it's still as gobsmacking as I remembered!

Cheers,
Rob ;)

I'm hoping to get there... has anybody else been to Villandry? Apart from the fact you couldn't get inside the large squares it was stunning, pre digital camera and the scanner is playing up!
:(

Mine too,GW. it reminded me of a river strangely enough, the light made the nasturtiums look almost translucent. Hope to go back in June next year to see the roses in bloom.
Thanks for your kind comments,peeps.

flossie

Lovely pictures, it is on my list of place that I would love to visit, hope that it wasn't too crowded

Emagggie

Not crowded in October Flossie, but I understand it is more so in the Summer. I hate crowded places with a passion, so I'd go early morning in the busy times.
