what is everyone planning on growing over the winter?
i have just got my lottie and am wondering on what to put in my newly dug over beds and also what to grow in the greenhouse over the winter.
all ideas greatfully recieved thanks.

Spring cabbages to sow soon.  Black Kale should be OK now but others need a bit more time.  Get a bit of overwintering lettuce in as well.  Also later, broad beans and overwintering onions.  Loads of other things I can't think of right now.

Green manure, altho I know very little about this.  Someone knowledgeable will come along and point you in the right direction.

Me, I have kale to go in, winter lettuce, radish, beetroot, autumn sown peas, autumn sown broadbeans and brocolli called corvet.

Do we get to eat fresh broad beans again?!!!!  ;D

Can I plant seeds straight into the ground now? Thanks!

Still abit early to be putting BBeans in Luckystar, In a new lottie I would recommend Vetch as a green manure and if you can face sowing Grass Hungarian Rye. Japanese Onion sets should be available about now but if it is still very dry start them in cells. There are some excellent salad mixes for winter and I will be sowing some inside and out this week. If you like Radish the winter radish are good and Chichory (Sugarloaf)... Still not too late to sow Autumn King and early Nantes Carrots but will need to keep seed bed damp to get germination...

I've just received my freebie seeds from KG magazine, along with the special offer they were having on oriental veg, all of which are overwintering types.  Un fortunately I'm at work just now and OH has beaten me to the lottie, and is as I type sowing my seeds.  Grrr...
