I can't believe the difference a week can make.  Last week I was at the lottie and got so sunburnt.  There wasn't a breath of air anywhere, it was so humid, it was difficult to work.  However, over the last few days the weather has changed dramatically, and it has rained heavily and we have had heavy winds, and it has been so cold.  When I went out yesterday, I even wore my new short winter jacket, with the collar up.  :o  Yesterday evening and today we have our gas fire on and it is a dark day and so cold! Can you believe it?  Is summer definitely over? busy_lizzie

o its great. i love it like this. just been for a blustery trip to the plot, and did a little light digging and didnt even get red in the face. excellent.

We'll be getting complaints about the cold at church before long. I've been tied up all day so far; I'm about to go down to the plot and see whether the rain we had overnight and this morning has made any difference at all.

our weather took a turn for the worst (normal) last week but i held myself back and kept the heating off, just put on an extra sweater.  i'm sorry but no heating is going on until i can bare it no longer.  ;D

but today's been lovely, shorts and vest weather again.  .  110o in the big greenhouse (i really must sort out those extra vents and louvres ! )

pot of what will be courgette soup on the simmer and rhubarb crumble in the oven and tomatos coming out of my ears.  i feel like a right earth mother.  see what you lot have done to me.

I got back from a week in Italy yesterday & have had to put the heating on today to get the washing dry! Mind you, it was raining in Italy too when we left- but nothing like as cold as here.Think I chose a good week to leave the lottie, though- evrything was fine when i went down today.

I'll keep you company BL. I'm cold too. Rain all day and windy. Mind you, whilst I have been wearing my lightly padded denim jacket over a t-shirt and feeling warm enough like that, today down in Gateshead I saw a lady in a heavy knit polo necked jumper with a thick furry gilet type thingy over it!  Noooooo! That's like inviting bad weather in!

yeah! an' an upside-down, inside-out window with nothing round it. Remember how proud she was of her pallet and her window and how we cheered her on? An look at her now.....

Went to visit mum in Surrey today - boy did it pour and the wind wripped right through you!  As we left at tea time a huge storm came rolling in - lots of lightening and thunder and so much rain, as we came back down the M25, the bikers were all huddled under a bridge on the hard shoulder out of the rain!  My darling wanted to stick the heating on, but no way, it is still August!!  Feels very autumnal suddenly!

Yellow Petals

I think it's lovely.  I've really enjoyed the super hot weather and now I'm enjoying the change.  It has been very cloudy, on and off wet and windy here in South West Essex today but the temperatures are still fine.  Around 19 today.  Temps set to be between 19 - 23 all week here (with added rain, cloud, showers) but Thurs supposed to be lovely again :)
