The question was how to get parsnip seed to germinate, i suggested an old exhibitors trick of spreading seed on some damp blotting paper, fold and place in a sealed clear plastic bag, check after a couple of weeks for signs of germination, then keep checking until signs of a root.
The only proof i had was this photo taken 11 years ago at our local show, i only grew veg for this show, sadly now gone.
As my main growing was roses for exhibition.
Yes i am now growing fuchsias for show but not until next year as only moved back to Scotland in March after 7 years in Wales,
and i have a greenhouse a shade house and a polytunnel to build before i get back into the swing of showing.
And sorry about the size of photo it is my first attempt at posting one and i guess i got it wrong.

lordy !!!!  the tubs my parsnips are in aren't even that long !

i had no probs with germinating the "snips".  wonder if it's cos we're cooler up here.
