Does anyone know where I can possibly get these from? I'm after the old fashioned, wild violets that were so popular in the 1920's. I'm wracking my brains trying to find info. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanx.

I have plenty of these in my garden and they seed everywhere! If you are anywhere near South Wales you could have some plants with pleasure. Bit late for the seed as they have already dispersed!

Don't talk to me about violets, I am overrun with the pesky things :o ;D  Very pretty, but difficult to control once they get self-seeding.
Happy gardening all...........Pat

I assumed Rain meant the named versions of the thug sort. Most of those are nowhere near as rampagingly invasive as the standard blue or white wild violet.
Do you realise just HOW invasive they are Trixiebelle?  They are slowly,  but surely killing everything in part of my rock garden by choking the other plants out and even the lawn is not sacrosanct. The seeds are explosively projectile and germinate in their thousands with a deep tap root. Weedkiller has little effect on them and handweeding is difficult without killing the plant you are trying to protect from them. They are our third most loathesome pest after bindweed and ground elder.

At least ground elder is edible!
