Hello

I just found this forum today and i am soooo thrilled.

I recently met my neighbour who is going to get me an allotment sorted for next week.

My children love growing things and we have 3 chooks in our town dwelling giving us lovely fresh eggs everyday.

So my appeal is for any spare vegetable seeds that you may have - we eat all vegetables so not at all fussy, something fairly easy would be helpful as I will be starting these off in the kitchen before transferring them to the plot.

Many thanks in advance :-)

Oh I forgot to say - I have some butternut squash seeds(that i could swap) that i have saved from what we ate yesterday, dont know if they will germinate but i have just started some off and will let you how they go.

Isn't it exciting?! I have lots of the above, but also have basil, chives, sage and oregano if you fancy having a go at herbs? Let me know...

Hi,

If you need any seed that you haven't already been offered, please send me your 'wish list' and I will send you anything I have.

Good luck with your new allotment, don't give up if it seems a bit bleak for the first few months - mine is a bit depressing at the moment - lots of weeds and most veggies not yet up.   What's good is that almost all of the things we have put in are germinating to one degree or another.

Kind regards

Ann

Hi from another newbie allotment owner
Lol - there are some really friendly people here! I'm liking this site more each time I log on.

The butternut squash seeds should germinate if you allow them to dry a bit I think, I'm growing them on the windowsill at home right now and took them out of a squash we ate.

Hopefully they'll go into our polytunnel (which is alomost finished) with a few other things and do well. Any ideas what else we could put in the polytunnel would be appreciated.
