I repeat this from our Fishmonger for what it's worth -

This is a warning passed on to us by City Link Couriers:-
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT USE PDS, if you are expecting a delivery from us, Only cards from CITY-LINK are used.

If you receive a card through your door or to your desk  from a company call PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) saying that they have a parcel awaiting delivery instructions and can you contact them on 0906 6611911

DO NOT call the number.  This is a mail scam originating in Belize

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you receive a card with these details, then please contact  ICTIS at http://www.icstis.org.uk or  your local  trading standards office.  If the card arrives at work contact HO Security.

Good post Tim, My Mum got a similar one saying they had tried to deliver a radio, she hadn't ordered one, so phoned me, "they say I should call this number"says she, "don't" says I, being the suspicious type!! After reading that I am glad she didn't! Thanks for pointing it out Tim  :)

Normally it's genuine - especially if you recognise a county phone number.

If worried, better to phone the suppliers?

Doris_Pinks

There was no supplier listed, which in itself made me suspicious! And was a courier I had never heard of, I thought if it was true they would try again, and it is well over a month later, and they haven't! ;)

Exactly DP, usually a courier company will try again the next day.  What a nerve!  Scammers everywhere, low lifes out to make an easy buck!

What I meant was the supplier you were expecting a parcel from.

Never ever phone any number starting with 09, they're all premium rate. They shouldn't be allowed.

Roy Bham UK

Our phone company has a facility for banning 09 numbers I'm glad to say, ;D  but be aware that mobiles don't. ???
