Allotments 4 All

Was in my garden early this morning and the birds where singing , i notice that all my bulbs are starting to poked through the daffs and tulips crocus and so on , i really felt like spring was in the air or am i just hoping

Dibber I felt the same, watching the birds visiting my new feeder,and noticing bulbs popping  through. On top of all that the sun was really shining. so who knows!!

I did spy one crocus in mine..... ::) sulking now..  :(

A beautiful day here today, the starlings were so noisy and lots of bulbs shooting through, buds on some bushes, made the heart race. ;D ;D

I've got one snowdrop showing a bit of colour.

looks like its just not me then with wishfull thinking , spring is just such a nice time of year cant wait ;) ;) ;)

I can see Daff, tulip, Irise, snowdrop, allium, blue bell like thing, heads poking through! I LOVE SPRING!  :)

thought mine were doing well but full flower mine are far off of that  ;)

Lots of that yellow Mahonia flowering, but the only things I've noticed round the allotments are snowdrops and Hellebores, and neither of them is past the stage of having the odd flower showing some interest in opening; nothing is blooming properly.

It feels like spring here today, beautiful sunshine, birdies singing their hearts out and I noticed the magnolia is in bud and my hydrangea shrubs have new leaves about to burst as do the azaleas, hens have all started laying again so we have a glut of eggs once more, yippeeeeee, it's going to be a good gardening year, I can feel it in my bones! ;D

lets hope so Jesseveve, i must of got every pest and disease going last year lets hope its not my turn this year  ;) ;)

bbrrr, bright but chilly morning here in Essex.  We had 2 long sleet showers this morning and I feared snow, but the sun is out again.  Spent time in my greenhouse and did some picking!!  ;D  Lots of leaves on my flower beds which I am going out to rake once I have made a cuppa.  Tis lovely to get out and get soil under your nails again, altho my toes are numb!! ;D ;D ;D

I have only snowdrops and one or two daffs showing above ground at the moment. Still a long way off flowering though. Nothing doing with my hellebores either.

Just shows what a different late autumn and early winnter we've had. Last year I had a few snowdrops out on new years day, and the hellebores were in flower by the end of january too.

Some of my Hellebores are beginning to open the flowers, so I'll definitely have them out properly this month. Nothing else is close though. I was walking down the canal to the library yesterday, and I was struck by all the bright yellow Mahonia along there; maybe I ought to think about planting a shrubbery.

You have reminded me of somthing I keep on meaning to do. - plant a few winter flowering shrubs in my garden to compliment the bulbs, dogwoods and hellebores.

Just never seem to get around to it though, then each winter I see the things in magazines and think 'I wish i had one of those'  ::)

I can see daffs and crocus poking through but I cant see any snowdrops :'( Keeping my fingers crossed that they will show up eventually.

It is a bit early in the North East and the temperatures are still fairly wintery.  The birds are very chattery and active however, so perhaps they know something I don't.  :) busy_lizzie

My snowdrops have not appeared so far, but daffodils are doing well even though that I have naturalised! Some of them actually have buds on!
