Mimi

Our Tesco's here in Caernarfon has it.  However it doesnt stock old fashioned 'pink' windowlean.  There has to be a story there  ;)
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Treacle and Syrup ARE different!

Depends what you need it for?

Good luck CLx
PS Mimi, I can't get Windolene - and the supermarket specials don't work as well

Carol

I got Treacle  Jags.  you want it!!!  They must sell it up in East Lothian.  Haddington??  Better come down to good old Galashiels get it there at Tescos  or even my local store sells it.

;D ;D ;D

rosebud

I bought some 2wks ago in Somerfields. Yes CL you are right they are both different  GOLDEN SYRUP  BLACK TREACLE, but you will find them in the same shelf at the supermarket under baking  goods, good luck Jaggy. ;D

They definitely have it in Sainsbury's ( I got some yesterday for baking my Christmas Cake) - but not kept with the jams honey syrup etc (where i was instinctively looking) but instead it was kept on the bottom shelf of the stand with all the currants raisins etc - no idea of the logic behind that one but try looking where you don't expect to find it.

wardy

Jaggy   Are you sure you've looked properly.  Know what you men are like  ;)
I came, I saw, I composted

jaggythistle

Ehhhh ladies.....not on me high horse here...but golden syrup and treacle
are both derived from the same source its just that treacle is drawn off
at an earlier stage in the process.... the final product being golden syrup.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (knows he is in for it now from the ladies) Carol nane in
Haddington, North Berwick,Prestonpans,Musselburgh and to boot I pulled
up managers in each store and wanted to know why....Wardy I looked and
better looked before approaching the managers  :P plus its because I am
male and can bake and cook I am looking for it in the first place  ;)
