Apart from world peace and harmony, what will you all be asking Santa for this year?!
I have asked for a shed!! (would like to see him wrap that one!) Oh and a huge lottery win of course ;D  Dottie P.

a bike - mine was nicked from the lottie an' all.
also, would like 'meeting with remarkable trees' - wanted that last year but got....slippers!

Well......from a practical point, a shed for the lottie would be great.  From a me me me point, a motorbike please.  I have the helmet and all the leathers and have done me test so now I wanna get out there!  Of course, the buckets of diamonds will do, I shan't complain, but if the big fat man in red overalls is listening...... :-*

I would just love someone to clean the glass in my greenhouses and scrub all that green gunk off the polytunnel-not jobs I look forward to.

Well a little help on the lottie would come in nicely  ;D as it's getting too big for an old man like me  :-/. Also a computer that my daughter can't get on so i could be on this site more, instead of just at work  :-/.
Some help with burgulars as they have just nicked my trike from the garage whilst i was away  >:( .

Hi there Emma Jane, I'm fairly new over here but couldn't resist answering your post. You sound just like my daughter! She too has all the leathers, helmet, boots etc and has passed her motorbike test.  She is 21 tomorrow and I'm sure she expects a gleaming machine to be waiting for her on the doorstep!! Pity the only one she's getting is about 2" high x 3" long, plastic and sitting on her birthday cake. If the red overalled guy pops in with your bike remind him Laura wants one too - silver and black if possible  ::) ::) Cheers Eileen.

p.s.  Santa, if you are listening...just thought, a BIG lottery win please, then I could sort out everyone with a shed, a window cleaner to sort out the greenhouses, a mile of high voltage fencing to keep Jethros burglars out, and motorbikes for all those who fancy themselves leather clad!   :-*

Tricky this one Dottie.

Would like some railway sleepers to run down the edge of my allotment path, and a self cleaning car so I don't have to waste time washing it.......do you think Santa might need a flatbed trailer to deliver??

On a seperate note....sorry to hear about the nicked trike Jethro...what a bummer. Not that I've owned a bike before but I could be sorely tempted to get a bike, especially having watched Billy Connollys tour of Aus......oh maaaaan what a cool trike! 8) Not sure it would be too practical for my 90 mile daily trip to work though?

I would like some tools! Especially the pruning kind. And a groovy knife so that next year I can trim leek ends into a bean trench, like I have seen other people doing.

And a PERFECT allotment like the ones on t'telly...

...just the soil they garden in on the tele programmes would do me  ... oh! OK and a greenhouse, big and wide and tall and strong...just like the bloke I'd like to prune my apple tree and put in some hardscaping and dig up some lawn and double-dig some new bean trenches.and, in this season of goodwill and love, please could my end-of-garden neighbour's gi-normous Norway spruce, which is plunging my garden in deep shade from 3.30pm - 7.30pm get stricken by something terminal, if not a bolt of lightening? .... just for starters?

aw jethro .....sorry about the trike....what a swinish thing for some git to do. i have recently had my bike nicked but in cambridge it happens to everyone, all the time - i have had dozens swiped. bet your trike was looked after and treasured tho' and such an invasion. sympathy sympathy, sending telepathic brainwaves now! :(

No sense of organisation, you lot!  What's this - "asked for"?

Took my kids down town yesterday, trekked them high and low,  into every book shop.  And they got just what I wanted - no, I did not twist anybody's arm! - Cabbages and Kings - Jonathan Roberts.  It's gone out of print, and we found the last copy in Leeds.

Not a growing book at all, but full of fascinating information and insights into the history and development of vegetables - I think!  Only problem with the strong-arm tactics is that it is now VERY firmly wrapped and hidden, so I STILL can't get into it!

I suppose I'd better get them something too, now ---- I was thinking of onion and shallot sets for one, carrot and parsnip seeds for another, brassica seeds for the third, and a spade for the oldest (time he did summat useful!)

Notice none of as asked for anything totally impractical! Gardeners see!! I hate it when people ask me what I would like, a pack of seeds would be great!! So easy to buy for gardening peeps ;D
I shall have a word with the bloke in the big red suit and get him to fill your stockings! (oh errr!) Tho a bike and a trike may be difficult to get in ;D

All I would like for christmas,or the new year would be a new job for my husband.He has suffered so much stress at work over the last two years that he has had enough and finally given his notice in.I am now very worried in case he does not find a new job in a month's time.Obviously,his health comes first and I think he has done the right thing,but very worrying all the same.

Sorry to be a bit maudling,but I don't feel very silly and jokey at the moment.

Margaret, I really feel for you both! My hubby was in a similar situation..........many sleepless nights on my part, and his too. If it makes you feel any more hopefull, he ended up with a job he LOVES, working with really nice people. Took a paycut, but we figured it was worth it, and it was ;D Will put you on the top of Santa's list.

Margaret ,sorry to hear that you're down in the dumps, hope hubby finds something less stressful soon. I'm a great believer in what will be will be and I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of you . Hope you manage to enjoy your christmas.
