Adam, got the new Oasis CD it is great. Really like Mucky Fingers!

What about Morrissey? Got his You are the Quarry and it has some fab tracks on it. You can't beat some of the old smiths classics though, This Charming Man. Also love Suedehead - cool video to go with it.

When I was a teenager I drove from London to Dover with a tone-deaf friend who sang William It Was Really Nothing all the way - think it's put me off the Smiths for life :( - shame as I think I'd really like them otherwise!

Woke up in the middle of the night last night and thought - Meatloaf! (not something you really want to happen, I have to say) - forgot him when I was making my list.  Oh dear, & I really love his songs, especially Life Is A Lemon and I Want My Money Back ... can I make it my top 20 songs, Adam?!

Ooo almost forgot, love Marc Bolan, "White Swan", sorry, forgot that one! Lottie  ;D

Maddy

I just bought a Jimmy Cliff cd today, and anything with his voice is currently in my top 5.  I can't explain why but I've been strangely drawn to him since I was about 14.

I suppose that I'm taking this to the fave voices but anyway, Elvis, Ray Charles, Dean Martin, Jimmy Cliff and Tony Bennett - young & old voice  :)

Maddy I'm with you on all those choices.  I really like JC's Wild World  :)  Dean Martin I'd thought about him and I love That's Amore, Gentle on my Mind etc  You've set me off now I'll be singing it all night  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

The more you try and think about it, the more the choices change... for the moment:

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Val Doonican - Snowbird (years of listening to it, as a child, 8-track cartridge on car journeys)
John Denver - Follow Me
The Czars - their version of 'Angel Eyes'
Jamshied Sharifi - Prayer for the Soul of Layla.

Not a massive Jimmy Cliff fan, but 'Struggling Man' and 'Hard Road to Travel' are wonderful IMO...
I travelled to a mystical time zone
but I missed my bed
so I soon came home

Mrs Ava

I really shouldn't keep reading this thread because it is impossible to narrow it down!

My Motown selection would be:

Me and Mrs Jones - Billy Paul
Grapevine - Marvin Gaye
Smoke gets in your eyes - The Platters
When a man loves a woman - Percy Sledge
Tears of a clown - Smokey Robinson
Chain Gang - Sam Cooke
