If all else fails, try Tescos et al ;D.  Look for some that might be a bit close to their sell-by date, and pop them in a bag.  On second thoughts, a "real" greengrocer might be more helpful, you can actually talk to them.
Failing that, any of your own earlier crop(s) that you might be able to use?
"Given that these are probably the most powerful secateurs in the world, and could snip your growing tip clean off, tell me, plant, do you feel lucky?"

Marshalls seed catalogue have them in Rosebud.  I had their autum catalogue a while back and they had several varieties...think the Dobies one did also.

The spuds from these places seem expensive! is it just because they are over winter varieties?

my local lottie association sells them 3kg for £1.50 (but do not do over winter ones) Are we spoilt?

westsussexlottie

the winter spuds are more pricey because they have been "suspended" in cold store over the spring and summer. They are therefore ready to go when you buy them.
Seed potatoes from a supplier are much lower risk of eelworm etc than if you use supermarket spuds - but this is less of an issue if you are using a bin as a growing method.

Rosebud, depending where you are I have a few leftover Maris Peer and Juliettes you could have if you're anywhere close to West London.

The Maris Peer are a little past their best (started to sprout and getting a little wrinkly!) but I think they'll still be okay....
