So much choice. So many pros & cons.

Do a 'Search' (at the top) for 'cloches' for ideas.

I cut 1m lengths off a 50m roll of rabbit fence wire which curls naturally to form a cloche. Timber battens stapled along the cut edges make them safe and manageable. Originally for bird and cat protection but I find I can easily clip/staple fleece or plastic over the top for winter. The ends are closed with polycarbonate sheet. They stack up quite nicely so they don't take up too much space when not in use. They work well with any plant spacings and simply stretch over 'wide and low' or 'narrow and tall' to suit the crop. From an agricultural supplier the fencing wire was reasonably priced.

for indiviual cloches, you can use big plastic bottles, with the bottoms cut off.

I'm going to make some with my chicken wire as I have a roll doing nothing on the plot at the mo and I need to keep birds off me brassicas.  I have lots of Tesco shopping baskets which I use as cloches but now my local store has run out so I have to think of something else.  Will start "shopping" at Sainsbury from now on  ;D

You nicked the lot... blimey  :o

Sainsbury's are plastic  :(

Just how many time have you 'accidentally' put your shopping in the boot forgetting it is in the basket then Wardy. ;D

You could buy a people carrier then you could forget that your shopping is in a trolley as well.  Nearly big enough to protect your purple sprouting.
