Have lots of pots of parsley growing for the allotment.  When will it be safe?  Are they hardy enough to go out now??  Neighbours flat leaf stuff has been out all year and is now just begining to bolt.  Mine is the curly wurly one which I adore.  ;D

If my lettuces can go out, surely parsley can??

Mrs Ava

That's what I wanted to hear Tim.  I shall be dragging the kids up there Wednesday so I will try to get it in.

Ours will be a day or 2 yet. Flat leafed - the only parsley!!

That's the celery behind.

Mrs Ava

Oh no tim, I just adore the 'curly sue' stuff.  So what about your celery then...when?

Debs

Grew curly type last year - did really well and had loads of the stuff so gave

some away. Was surprised to see that it is still growing on my patio here in 'oop

north-east coast'. Must be extremely hardy stuff ;D

This year have recently sown the flat leaved variety which reputedly has the

best flavour. Has not germinated yet...

Celery, Emma? Probably when I'm not looking!  Another 3-4 weeks??

Your parsley's gonna go on and on, Emma. Put it out now, fleece it if you're feeling maternal & think it wants a little jacket, but it'll survive the coming winter & go to seed next year. Like the curly stuff but the flat-leafed is the winner for me. Either way tho, can't be without it....cheers!
