Thanks to all of you! 
In good French tradition, I had to make cakes for work today - I made 2 choc cakes and my Australian pumpkin fruitcake (which I had to explain to everyone as the idea of using veggies in cakes is very strange to them!) They liked it anyway.

Happy birthday Antipodes.  I hope you're enjoying yourself and having better weather than we are here.

I know what you mean about cakes and the French.   I have great fun with the Belgians and chocolate carrot cakes, chocolate beetroot cakes, other carrot cakes, banana cakes and cakes with no flour.   They also love Bakewell tart and Manchester tart and pavlova.

It's OH's birthday on Friday and he's asked for chocolate orange cake to take to work.
