Had Christmas lunch at my Daughter's house the last few years.

This year will be just me and him and sort of looking forward to that as we can do what we want he he . ;D

Daughter always buys everything from  M&S.............LOVE IT .

Sadly my budget does not run to that but just drooling over their catalogue.

I am no great cook so after many just so efforts decided not to go down that road again lol.Too busy working anyway.

Decided on a few treats from M&S but so hard to choose.

Any other M&S food lovers out there ?

'Fraid so.  My OH insists on shopping there every week  ::)  There food is terribly good, must say.  Is there something you want me to recommend?   We often pop in to a M&S store mid afternoon and pick up some of their 'bargains'.  At one time my freezer was full of M&S food bought at cheaper prices.  What I really do recommend is their chickens.  Again, I usually get one for £4 at the cheaper price and have it for a Sunday roast, they are delicious.  I will be buying a Turkey Crown from them for Xmas and other bits and pieces.
;D ;D

So glad you replied Carol ;D Thought I was the only M&S fan on here.

Do they do their "bargains" every day?

Yes, every day from 3 onwards you will see the staff going round the stock and checking the dates.  Then, the yellow stickers come out and the food is reduced.   The past month though the amount of reduced items has gone down.  I now notice that a Chicken costing around £6  now goes down to £4 whereas before they were reduced to £3.  I have seen me following the assistants and watching what is going to be reduced.  ;D ;D   I felt like a vulture but many other customers were doing the same  LOL.  Their desserts are yummy.  Go for it Betula.
;D ;D

Carol

hahaha   Jingle Bell looks hmmmmmm delicious.   Heart Attack on a plate though.  But, you could have a little bit.How about the white chocolate Snow bombe?   Roll on Christmas eh?    :P :P

My sister (89) always shops at M & S. I usually go and stay with her each year when her son goes to Australia. Unfortunately I will miss my M & S treats this year as she is not well enough to have company. Our M & S is 20 miles away.

Fortunately we don't have an M & S food store near where I live  ;)

I just looked at the catalogue to see what I'm missing.......thank goodness we don't have a store nearby!

A funny thing though, the only things in the 'vegetarian' section are cakes and desserts.  Not that I would mind having starter, main and dessert from that section but it does seem a bit strange.

We do have an M&S but only go in there cos its a short cut thrugh to the other side. They probably built it that way to catch the passing trade.
God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

We now have a Waitrose in Knutsford about 3 miles away. They really reduce there stuff. I got a lovely piece of lean belly pork for 62p & diced chicken breast £1.50 for 500g & 2 organic chicken legs for £1.40. I bought the M & S Christmas cake & pudding when they were half price. I think they are doing food offers running up to Christmas.

betula

Well I live within a five minute walk from our food store so it is hard, very hard LOL ;D

i work at a meat packing factory who supplies the meat products for m&s mainly bacon and gammon joints every thing as to be just right down to the labels so you see why the prices are high,  it  also  goes  to tesco( i feed the factory  workers )

Ragdoll Lady

No M&S or Waitrose near us at all so what you cant see you dont miss ;) When I was working at Lakeside I had a friend who bought her whole shop in M&S lucky girl! We used to really tease her about buying their 'superior' toilet rolls :) I admit the food is lovely and if I had the money I would buy it. We have a great Morrisons here and i get a lot of reduced food as pop in when ive picked hubby up from work. Just as they are reducing their rolls and pies and veg so always manage to get a bargain then.
