What would you pay for a second-hand shed?

A friend is selling her 7' x 5' shed and has asked me if anyone at the allotments would be interested.  It will be dismantled and delivered to the allotments. It has a window and is in good condition.

Only problem is, she hasn't got a clue how much to ask.

Any ideas anyone?

I've been buying secondhand chicken coops recently (3 of them!), so if it's any help, a fair price for something in good condition would be a third of the new price for a "take it away yourself" item.

Much depends on the quality of the original.  Ordinary B&Q type sheds don't take kindly to being dismantled and reassembled.  The window glass may no longer fit, and the roof covering is likely to tear.

A really nice quality shed in good condition might be worth half of the new price.

If it's being delivered, you could add on a reasonable amount for that.

So if the shed would be around £300  to £350 new, I'd say between £125 and £150 delivered.

second-hand sheds usually sell for £25 - £40 ( collected) maybe more if delivered.

Going rate in Lincolnshire for s/shand 3'x6' shed is about £25 and  6'x8' shed about £50ish, take it down and haul it away yourself.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

kt.

Usually £30-50 depending on condition.  I bid on a 7x5 shed at the weekend on ebay.  It sold for £70.

Perhaps in some areas 2nd hand shed go for more than in others?
Supply and demand..

They are usually pretty scarce when you are looking for them.  :(
