I harvested a few Runners on Thursday, my first of the year.
I normally harvest my French beans first, but the runners have won hands down this year.
One of the newbies whose became a good mate on the lottie gave me the plants and I put them in a lot earlier than I sow, the last frost got at he's a bit but mine where untouched and romped away, they have a white flower but I don't know the type, I'll have to ask him when I see him next.
;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

You are so lucky, but mine are doing well, normal runner beans with red flowers.  Need some water soon.

Squashman

I have been cropping my St. George

green lily

Mine have pretty flowers [painted Lady] but no pods yet.Sowed during the April heatwave and they survived the frosts but took ages to come thru. Feel quite chuffed that they survived at all coz I lost the trail beans and had to start again. Am eating french beans from the poly but I guess that's cheating.... ;)

Ours have flowers but no beans yet. Have tried Crusader this year
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Duke Ellington

I have no beans yet. I am using an X frame this year so I am keeping an eye on them this year making sure they climb up the correct part of the frame. Most of mine are French Beans purple and cobra, a few borlotti. The runners are flowering.
dont be fooled by the name I am a Lady!! :-*

landimad

Mine are red emperor and have only just started to climb the canes.
Looks as if we are in for a late crop this year.

Got them back now to put some tread on them

Had a closer look at mine this evening and noticed the runners aren't setting despite the flowers. Is it time to hose the flowers as I've heard that helps?
I have watered the plants a bit but not concentrated in the blossom. :-\

hippydave

I had my first borlotti beans today and they tasted great but no where near having runners ready
