I have a space for a plant in my bathroom which is east facing.
Any ideas?

calendula

depends where the space is as it will be bright and sunny on the window but a bit more dappled elsewhere - I have a weeping fig in my bathroom, getting big, loves it, seems to like the steam, so you'd have to think about that as well and the other consideration is that like kitchens bathrooms tend to have a lot of 'stuff' in the air such as aerosols, powders, all sorts of beauty paraphernalia so the plant will have to like those conditions as well and could need washing a lot (my fig does, so i just put in under the shower now and again)  ;D

It will be on the window sill but - next door is not that far from us so will be a bit shaded.
Also I really want something which flowers.

Orchids are cheap in lidls. I've had one in the bathroom for years.

That is an idea.  My wife hates orchids and this plant is penance from her.
Although I have loads so maybe a peace lilly would be better.

The bathroom is an ideal place for many plants as it has moisture in the air and is generally warn. African violets love it.

I was going to suggest African Violets aswell, my nan has about 20 in her bathroom and they thrive in there.

How about a Spider plant? They're commonplace but pretty much indestructible. I've had the same one for over thirty years!

Not the place for them in the summer though, it will get to hot from the morning sun and then they dry out to quick. Better with a succulent in the east facing window as they wont mind the heat.

Got them back now to put some tread on them
