Well, thought I might have a bash at posting some before and after pics of my lottie....hopefully you can tell wich is before and after.....if succesful will try to take a more up to date one as now have shed etc.....fingers crossed you can see them!

Apologies to all re my terrible spelling when posting these pics. This is largely due to the fact that I have spent the best part of this afternoon down the lottie, consuming vast quantities of mulled red wine with a fellow allotmenteer! It doesn't get any better spending time down the shed doing the Jamie Oliver bit on a hot stove......only thing is if the truth be known I'm starting to look more like Pavarotti as each day goes by!

I am humbled. I've spent 2 days now on a very overgrown plot over Xmas and cleared loads of brambles, nettles, etc etc. I am now faced with a choice of what the heck to do next. Do I rotovate or dig? Use Glyphosphate or be organic. Beds or just dig the lot etc etc. How have you made such an excellent job of yours?

you must have had too much wine and taken an image of the wrong plot. tell what kind of wine it is and i will have some maybe my plot will look the same, it looks brilliant credit to you

Thanks for all your kind comments. It certainly was a labour of love and took me about 3 months to clear from top to tail, working each weekend on my own. Don't think fellow allotmenteers could believe I'd taken it on but received barrowloads of encouragement each weekend I turned up with my fork and spade. I think the secret was to not look up when digging/clearing and seeing what was left to do!....just kept looking back at what I had done each week. the worst bit was the houses that back onto my plot had over the years decided to deposit all their rubbish onto it, including, concrete fence posts, sinks, marble fire places etc so these were dragged to one end and stretched across the width of the plot and stands about 3ft high with weeds and top turf stuck on top. Have now covered this over with carpet and will eventually cut slits into this and plant out. The highlight was finding hundreds of slowworms that I put safely to one side as am totally organic....so look out slugs my legless lizards are looking out for you......anyway I'll shut up now......just to say I am just so totally "in love" with allotmenteering.....but then I guess you know that by now!
