Found a frog on the plot the other day. Was very fat. Sort of flabby at the sides. OH said to children that was because it was full of eggs. I wasn't too sure about that - don't they mate in Spring?

Dunno about the eggs Sarah, but we found one in the garden last weekend and it was soooooooooo skinny!  You could literally see its skelaton.  Didn't look well at all.  Guess it is a hard time of year for these slippery suckers.  :(

Sarah,i have had a frog in my garden looking just as you describe for quite a while. It has a very flabby piece of skin on one side only. But it seems ok.Emma ,some of my frogs do look permanently skinny and i do worry but they seem to go on and on.So long as you know there are plenty of worms and slugs for them, and noone around you uses slug pellets you can't really do a lot more. Now it is cold they won't be eating anyway.Mine have all disappeared, except for the odd sad little motionless shape at the bottom of my deep fish pond.

No slug pellets or chemicals.  He did look poorly, but soon hopped away.  I hope he found a nice worm for supper and a leaf pile to snuggle up under.
