Watched last night whilst sewing Mal....I was shocked to discover how much I enjoyed Ting Tings and Doves. :o
A daughter is there, saw a pic of her and lover looking absolutely peed off, but glad to say we have spoken and she's having a great time, if not a trifle damp. ;D
Almost wish I was there. Seriously thinking about Womad next year though.
Smile, it confuses people.

if i could still do tents, I'd be there myself, maggie..just watched Neil Young, awesome  ;D
when we watched, at least it was dry so maybe they'll get some better weather  :)

Oooh, I would love to be there too, I would love to be a hippie!! I went to Glastonbury itself for the first time this year and loved the place.  The abbey was beautiful.   :)

Ah festivals..........those were the days! 8)

I went to Stonehenge free festival several years in the late 70's when it was just a gathering and you could wander and sit on the stones at midsummer dawn and watch the sun rise with the druids.....not allowed to do that anymore without strict English Heritage supervision! Great bands too........Reading and Knebworth were fun as well, although a lot more organised than 'henge! Met my OH for the first time at Knebworth when Led Zep headlined........ahhhhh ;D

Never been to Glastonbury, but it all seems so commercial now. Miss John Peels dry assessment on the telly too....... :'(

We are taking our daughter and son to one of the V festivals for the day this year to show them how to do it!  ::) ;D I was hoping The Prodigy were playing again this year but apparently not... >:(

Nowadays, and with a bad back to contend with you won't get me in a tent without a full sized proper bed and a duvet! Sad eh...... ;)

OH did security for WOMAD a few years ago......although I think that just involved doing exactly what you liked and standing around looking large occasionally from what I remember! ::)
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

AH Stone(d)henge Deb P.  I went for a couple of years, possibly 81, 82 and I may have even seen Hawkwind and Gong but who knows.  This was in the day of Coco-loco's cocaine emporium and the mephisito mexican magic mushroom stand.  I did Glastonbury as well but swore never to go back - far too big for my liking.  I couldn't stand it now - too many people and too much money and way too big.  Keep meaning to go try one of the smaller ones but my plot keeps calling me.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Neil Young - what a performance!

busy_lizzie

Was amazing to even watch it on the Telly. I missed going to festivals in my youth - don't know why it just never occurred to me. Is it too late at 65 do you think? Can't imagine the discomfort of having to lie on the ground with MY back. Must be fantastic to be there though and have really enjoyed seeing Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young was awsome and Bruce Springsteen last night was phenominal.  Like the other younger performers too, and looking forward to seeing Blur today.  We have had great coverage this year on the telly. busy_lizzie  8)
live your days not count your years

Manouche

Hey Girl it's never too late to live life. Yeah coverage is great but you don't feel the atmosphere watching on TV.

Went to my first festival on the I.O.W. saw Jimi Hendrix wow.... wore beads and a headband and got my pic in the Sun to prove it. Oh heady days!

Don't regret not doing it ..go for it and have fun.
Your only young once.

Love and Peace

Never did festivals... Don't think I was ever "young"....  ???

Hey oldies you dont have to worry about your back anymore you can get VIP caravan tickets for glasto.
All you need is £4000 to rent the luxury caravan (for 4 people - what a bargain) and stump up the £150 for entrance tickets.
Wasn't like that in my day etc etc!! :P

Shame Neil Young didn't let the BBC broadcast his whole set :'(

Now i'm really annoyed I didn't go and see Neil Young in concert when I was a Post Grad student. As it was in Christchurch, NZ the crowds would have been small....however I remember walking from the Botany building on the long trudge to the glasshouse complex loaded with equipment and Neil was doing a rehearsal at Lancaster park about 2 miles away and the tall Uni buildings caught the sound and i had my own concert. he was really loud!

I know why i didn't go to the concert....i was already married and my husband didn't like Neil Young and as we were students we didn't have a lot of money......I would have gone if i was single.

Didn't go to many concerts, not many to go to!

B-52's and The Ramones........took me about 3 weeks to get my hearing back after the later.

Rhubarb Thrasher

has anyone seen the clips of Tom Jones? There's a bloke in the audience with a T shirt with "Sir Tom Sh@gged My Nan Hard"

B-52's

Love Shack live....very envious

I have introduced them to my 15 year old...he loves them and delights in randomly quoting lyrics to his friends...leaving them totally bemused!
