Hello to all my allotment4all mates I haven't been on this site since summer last year so i hope everyone I knew is still about and well.

My allotment has been left a bit and I went for a little walk yesterday to see and realised I didn't put in much garlic as I was mean't to go and buy some from the garden centre and didn't.

Am I too late now to plant some more??

A lot of places are selling garlic at this time of year.  Planting it early spring / now will be fine ;)

That's interesting, Dan- when do you harvest it?

Thanks everyone.

Year before last I planted some and it never came to anything blubs nver formed so I always stick to plant late year before you want harvest.

Have to plan to get that down right away now.

Great that, my last years (too much) started to sprout  a couple of weeks ago and so I thought I would plant some. Have done so.

Other bits I have stuck in some oil so that I get garlic oil for cooking. Looks like bubbles are coming of it so it is probably fermenting in the oil.

I am not too sure about this fermenting oil.

trying to remember what happens when I do flavoured oils. I think there were some air bubbles initially, but it wasn't a problem afterwards. So I think it should settle down ok?

How long's it been in the oil? If it's fermenting, you can tell easily enough as gas pressure will be building up in the jar. On the other hand, if it's decaying, it'll smell. Open the jar and see.

I'd expect bubbles shortly after putting it in the oil, but if they persist, something's not right.

Planted April 1st and Harvested August 25th. ;D
