Keep having another cup of coffee to put it off,got to go to Morrison's.

Normally only go to the village shops these days but they don't have enough choice for my visting hungry mouths :)

Have been lucky this year, two of Jims ex uni friends have sent us lovely hampers for Christmas so that has cut the cost, people can be so kind.Or maybe they think I don't feed him properly hmmm.

Wish me luck. ;D

Good luck in Morrisons.

I am just off to tescos to get stuff I don't normally buy.  Thyme and Parsley leaves, Mustard Powder, Gruyere Cheese and a small bottle or red Wine!!!  What am I making?  with 4 slices of bread to go with this lot.

You've been watching too much, 'can't cook, won't cook' haven't you?  ;D

I was dragged round Morrison's yesterday nightmare, they had sold out of Xmas cards with wife on had to go to the papper shop on the way to the plot this morning and get her one.....£4.49 that's more than i spent on her sodding prezzie. :'(

Mrs Ava

Popped into the Maldon Morrisons today - wasn't all that bad.  In fact, we timed it perfectly as there was plenty of parking, no queues at the tills and I was able to pick up everything we needed.  Job done!  All that's left is a visit to the farm shop on Chrissy Eve for some fruit, and then to the allotment for the veg.

we're off to Morrison's tomorrow, early after we open the chooks up..need goat's milk so no choice  ;D
then the fruit shop so that should do it  ;)

Ours was crowed in Solihull, plenty of reverse trolley going on.Everyone seemed in a good mood though.

The goose fat was expensive,it was Highgrove though, they must have a better class of goose.Well they would if you think about it.Being royal and all that ;D

Well I survived Tescos for the ingredients as listed above.  What am I making?   Well, it is a crust for the top of a sirloin which we are having instead of Turkey.  I should be making this Crust now, but too tired out, will do it tomorrow.   Tescos wasn't too busy, but the folk who were there bought trolleys of mile high food.  I like looking into other folks trolleys, do you??

I agree - Oh No! - but I have to go to Morrisons tomorrow to buy some filo pastry. None of the local stores stock it, but I saw it in Morrisons last week when I did my shop for other items not available at the stores I normally walk to, so am hoping Morrisons will still have some. I want to make some of Jamie's special 'mince pies' as a pressie for a neighbour.

Having been charged £9.99 in 1990 for a can of beer by Morrisons, and when I complained was told by the undermanager that he was not prepared to believe me (aka  I was a liar) have never been in a morisons store since.

Well don;t worry Valmarg,I once got a light for 99p that should have been £9.99.
So I got your tenner back :D ;D

I have been to asda this morning. What a complete nightmare! I needed to get general cooking items and drinks etc. I will go to the farmshop tommorrow and the lottie on xmas day. The veg aisle was manic. Glad I could avoid that one. I know no idea how many people some people have coming around to demand 5kg of carrots and 4 bags of brussel sprouts!

At M&S Manchester this morning it was HELL! The woman in front of me bought £280 worth of food. Hope she has a big family!

No pigs in blankets, so will have to faff around and make me own.  :-X

we dragged ourselves out at 10pm to out local 24hr asda, and luckily not too many people had the same idea, and the shelves were stocked just the same as usual.will definetely do the same next year,we even got a parking space!also cos we were there late, and wanting to get home for a class of wine,we didnt buy any tat or anything we didnt need,in and out in 40 mins

Good to see how packed our little farm shop was.  Couldn't believe my eyes, but then the veg is so much better quality and cheaper than even the budget supermarkets, and talking to people in the queue, they had come from far and wide.  Got my fruit, lychee, figs, mango, pineapple.....of course we grow these locally in the tropical rain forrests of Essex.  :P ;D

Big queue at Kelly's Turkey farm, police directing traffic.  We collect ours tomorrow, but it is within walking distance as it is opposite the childrens school, so no faffing in traffic for us.  The only driving left for me to do is when number one son and I pop to the allotment tomorrow afternoon to dig 'snips, carrots and cut kale, sprouts and cabbage.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

We had to queue to get into the carpark at Morrisons, but I got lucky and found a space close to the entrance very quickly. I only needed two items (I'd phoned first to make sure they weren't sold out!) and was able to use the baskets only checkout. The place was heaving so I was glad to be out of there in a comparatively short time.

My OH went to Morrisons last night.  No queue!  (I looked after the the kids instead ;)).   If I had to go I would of just ordered it to be delivered.  Well worth £5 delivery ;D

my son came home last night, he wants to go shopping TODAY and, as the nearest supermarket is 5 miles away, guess who's taking him  ::) ;D
still, maybe they'll be selling all sorts off cheaply  ;D
