Hi all, well who will be recycling or shredding their christmas cards and envelopes, wrapping paper this years,

i've started by shredding my empty envelopes and placing it all on my compost heap,

SO What will you all do,

Iv'e told everybody to not send me any cards.

And naturally I shall not be sending any. So I'm doing my bit.

If shredding and recycling has anything to do with global warming. Please stop now, I'm freezing my b *@# ks off.

I tried last Christmas and the Christmas before to stop people sending me cards especially the friends and relatives I see quite ofton.  No use.   I did not send any.  How do you convince people?  I told them I was making a donation to charity and they suggested I buy their cards.   The thought of sitting down and writing From x and x and addressing envelopes reminds me of getting lines at school.

I compost a lot of envelopes, some go in the recycling bin. The cards.......I save ones that I can cut out gift tags from and recycle bin the rest.

I have also tried to stop cards coming and sending.......but it never happened. Peeps ALWAYS send 'em ::) I have reduced the amount I send out though ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Cards, wrapping, etc will be shredded for compost and mulch, as will the tree.

I'll be sending as many of my 'cards' as possible via e-mail.

Merry Christmas all.

(there, how easy was that?)

;D

Lesson for life:
1. Breathe in     2. Breathe out     3. Repeat

Surely only the ones that don't get recycled shouldn't be sent.

We all need to look at the bigger picture, if we stopped sending cards, more people would be out of work.

Told my wife not to send cards as i hate Christmas but she still sends them give them to charity no chance i hope the credit crunch really bites into them this coming year  especially oxfam and all charities that spend any money outside the uk.

small thing but we don't buy any 'shiny wrapping paper and we get everyones to compost, envelopes etc get shredded for chicken bedding, stopped sending cards to people who never speak , lived here 36 years and they never even say hi  ;D

We keep the cards cut into suitable sizes for shopping lists then recycle them once used.

I love sending and receiving cards.

I keep the sentimental ones off my family and recycle for next years gift tags, then put the rest in the compost.

Phew after reading this, I'm now not going to send any cards. I won't feel like scrooge.

I'll save on the cards, postage, wear and tear on my shoes to get to the post office  ::). Plus even more money on anything else I might have been tempted to buy while waiting inline at the post office.

That translates into a little more money for new seeds next year \0/

I hate writing Xmas Cards but have almost finished doing that.  However, the local cards have not been delivered yet, now I find that a nonsense.  I don't know why we send Greetings to neighbours.  I told my friend I was going to stop doing it next year but she says  'Oh you had better give me a card'

I recycle all my cards, my neighbours and friends cards to Tescos where they go for the Woodland Trust.  The envelopes get recycled with the rest of the paper and the stamps get cut off for a Christian Charity.
