Eden Project

Has anyone been there.We went last week and they have a veg garden the size of an allotment that is simply superb.Every veg imaginable and not a weed in sight. It's worth going to Eden just to see that

I ,ve been twice ! It is brilliant ! ...but not seen the Vegetable Garden yet ...so looks like a third trip is in order.....thanks for letting us know about it !    Woodypecks

And you know you get an annual pass for the same amount so 15.00 to go as many times a year as you like

we go every year, it just gets better, and you get to eat the produce in the cafe  ;D

My partner and I went last year and near the exit they had beds of plants that are used in medicine.  Most interesting.

Coming from Kenya and seeing coffee trees (I grew up on a coffee estate) and plants from the tropics like Alamanda (large yellow tubular flowers) and also the Malaysian part with a house built on stilts and a typical Malaysian vegetable garden was fascinating.

It is well worth a visit.

with the cost of fuel these days it's probably cheaper to fly to the tropics and see these plants then it is to drive to cornwall!! ;)

We went round it once and found every food plant they grow in West Africa. But I do prefer Heligan, which is only a few miles away. Take your own food, I was very unimpressed with what was on offer.

I was so pleased to read the posts about the Eden project and The gardens of Heligan.
My sister and I are going there in September,  and I am looking forwards to it .We are going on a four day coach trip, I think we are stying in Newquay
Any tips on anything  would be great .

I have been to eden twice and thought it was certainly worth the visit! The food available was excellent. However on my second trip The food on offer was awful...sub standard pizza and cheap cafe food! Which wasn't cheap in cost just in quality. Its such a shame that the food has become so awful considering that many people travel for miles to visit Eden. My advice--- eat somewhere else!!! or bring your own. I would go to Heligan again and again !! I doubt I would go to Eden again!

That was my only disappointment the food. I expected all organic local produce but what they served was poor standard cornish pasties and pizza.

But we didn't see it all so there might have been a cafe hidden away somewhere

Have to say the food at the Eden project was easily forgetable when we went last year, whereas Heligan was superb for everything.

Thanks for the advice about the food ,maybe we will give the Eden cafe a miss. and try the Heligan one instead.
Must say I am looking forwards to the visit to both .
