I’m seeing the word healthy from start to finish, how many of us Brits take a push- bike to the lottie or even walk? That is so 50’s so Last of the Summer Wine, I envy you Ina and what a harvest, thanks, you’ve made my day. :) 8)

Mrs Ava

Ina, your photos are always so bright, and your veg always so colourful and clean!  Keep them coming girlie!  ;D

ina

Thanks for the nice reactions, it motivates me to post some every now and then.
Roy, we decided a number of years ago that if we didn't have a car I could work less hours. It worked out well. Maybe three or four times a year we miss having a car but that's all.
The bike on the picture is my fancy new one, it even has four speeds. It's used for shopping and lottie, I still go to work on my old musical bike.... ratle, squeek, groan, clonck.

Ina - lovely new camera, lovely new bike - but I'm worried about the basket!! When's your birthday?? = Tim

Thanks ina, i can't wait to be as productive as you!

Hi Tim,
Yes I know I'm a basket case hehehe.

Actually, it's my harvesting basket that stays in the lottie, I didn't have a crate with me for the front of the bike that day so I tied the basket to the rack because I had a full load for the back bags. I thought it looked kind of nice, that's why  I took the picture.

You are right to worry about the basket Tim, it's ready for the compost heap.
Birthday? You are too nice, but............stopped having those many years ago.

Ps Jemma: You'll be surprised how quickly you'll have a glut. The veggy part of the lottie is actually quite small, no more than 100m2, if that much and every year I'm amazed how much we get off it. Good luck to you.

ina

OOoooooohooooooooh, did you see the time I posted the message above? Is that weird?

GardnerJ

freaky! all the 13's!
Thanks for your kind words too Ina xxx Jemma

Only 100m2 - my entire garden is smaller than that and my veggies only have about 5m2 at the mo.

Now I don't feel quite such a failure!

Your crops always look fantastic Ina - you should be proud!

(I hope all the 13s haven't jinxed you!)
gone to pot :D

ina

Really Aqui, 5m2? That's smaller than two double beds together. Talk about square foot gardening. What all do you grow on it?
Our allotment is 260m2 but the larger part is used for flower garden.

Psst, I'm a bit proud really, that's why I show the pictures, sssssst. Thank you A.

aquilegia

well I haven't measured it, but that's a fair guess.

I'm growing:
40 tom plants (mostly in bags, but they are including in the space estimate)
12 potatoes (also in bags)
6 runners (slugs ate two of them)
two courgettes (also now in pots as they weren't happy in the soil)
lots of beetroot, carrots, radish and lettuce (all harvested small)
fennel
peppers and aubergines (in the mini greenhouse)
and lots and lots of herbs.

I don't do proper plant spaces, everything is crammed in as tight as possible!
gone to pot :D

Gardengirl

Spooky or what :o

You sure you haven't been down the market for your veggies Ina ;) :D

You are an inspiration to us all - wonderful :) :) :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Oh you GG! How dare you! hehehe.

Aqui, I'd love to see a picture of your two-double-beds-plot, any chance?
It's fantastic what people can do on little space and here I'm complaining about not having enough room. Just wait till you get an allotment, you'll be in heaven but then again.........what would you need one for?

Modify: I just saw your picture. Fantastic but.......bigger than I imagined. I do think you need an allotment tho' haha.

tim

Aqui - with all the room that we have - couldn't do better than you. Keep at it! = Tim
