Felt a bit cold today in not so sunny Enfield, especially as our heating has broken down, and I want a bath and wash my hair but the water is so cold.  Think the tank in the loft is overflowing and the ceiling doesn't look too good.  Luckily OH is a plumber so should be OK, I hope.  Sitting typing in a fleece, coat and scarf.

We've been down to Enfield today, couldn't believe how cold it was compared to the balmy Midlands! It was nice to get back home to the sun!

A lovely bright sunny start to the day- that was the high point.
Gloomy and overcast all afternoon with the wind picking up quite a bit. I've even shut the greenhouse and polytunnel doors tonight!

Played 3 sets of tennis with the OAP's and warmed up, heating now works and cat on my lap and have put the thick duvet on the bed, stew in oven so am a happy bunny.  Had a second break in at the tennis club, but they cut themselves whilst smashing the double glazing glass, so might have a result, as the police came.  Now have cameras, alarms etc. etc.  They had the cheek to get the first aid kit out but hopefully have left evidence, hope they had a bad cut, but mustn't be nasty to the poor criminals.  >:( >:(

nice this morning but persisting down now , just made pea and ham soup, chicken noodle soup and a great big pan of stew, gonna open the pickled red cabbage  ;D

Miserable and dreich here. I haven't been over the doorstep today. However I've started another batch of plum wine, sowed more  sweet peas, and done some cooking: potato gratin, chicken with chillies stirfry and carbonnade de boeuf. All quite comforting stuff!

Sheeting rain this morning-which I got caught in. I thought at first it was a quick shower, positively bouncing!

Yipee!! woke up to rain although it seems to have almost stopped now. Don't know how much fell during the night.
