Grandma

My neighbour gave me a few PSB plants last year. Never having grown them before I'm not sure if I should cut the top bits now.

They are a good size - a couple would make an ideal portion for one!

There are loads of shoots coming all down the stem - would taking these tops off now be good for them?

Thank you!

Grandma

Yep! They're ready for the pot 8) And topping the plant will encourage all the growth down the plant & make it bushier....

Enviously yours,

Lishka

Grandma

I noticed a few of you having PSB ready for the pan, and thought the few plants I have are doing nothing, then I went over the lottie today and noticed I have some heads nearly ready for cutting, they seem to have appeared out of nowhere, tell us how they taste Grandma and are we boiling or steaming.   :P     ;D ;D ;D

My PSB are not sprouting at all yet... Mind you, I only sowed them on the 4th and they're half inch high now :)
Tony.

Sow it, grow it, eat it.

Steam - yes!
And, just a reminder, you do NOT have to wait for a cauliflower at the top - the stems are the succulent bit. Far better than Asparagus.

And quicker! Don't have to wait 3 years from planting to be able to have a proper harvest!
Son likes to nibble broccoli while it is still attached to the plant.
