Wind's whipped up to a fury here this morning........going to take a couple of baskets down and move some pots just in case, and put up some more veg support....but it looks as if we're in for a wild one.
We'll all have to take shelter in The Shed!!

Kerry

same here too (leicestershire) CL.
My cats are in high spirits-wind up their tails! :)
Still blue sky though, hope I can get out this pm, jobs to do in the garden.

Mrs Ava

I have washing on the line.....but I think if I don't peg it in soon I will be retrieving it from next doors garden!  Already had a power cut this morning.  Tis really blowing up a gale now in Essex, mind you, it does bring all of the dead wood out of our willow, which saves me a job!  ;D

Granny_Smith

A little bit of wind here in Cambridge, but bright blue sky. I'm off home now (got the pm off!!) so if it gets too bad, will be on hand ready to do a rescue job.
Granny is still your best friend !

Just a light breeze here in the west of Scotland at the moment. Rain's staying away too, so far, but looks like it's going to be wet this afternoon.  :(

Take care in those high winds everyone.

Eileen.

Jeremy my Oh was hoping to get the sports boat on the water this weekend (with me of course!).Somehow, I don't think so unless there's a radical weather change!!
Doris my Delphs are not happy either!

Somehow I managed to get the pea nets up this afternoon.....will they still be up tomorrow I wonder...

Rain in the air now and NOT going out tonight......

Take care all! CLx   ::)

We had very strong winds here (West Sussex) this afternoon. My rambling rose came tumbling down (supporting trellis gave way). Have done a "make-shift" job with the rose and will fix it properly on the weekend. Fortunately our hedgerow gives a lot of protection from the wind otherwise there would have been much more damage. Wind has died down a bit but still raining. Can't believe this is summer!  :'(

North Cheshire was allegedy going to miss the bad weather but the wind is pretty powerful here - we had mega-thunder in the night.  Had to rescue my little plastic greenhouse and tie it to a heavy parasol stand and a hook on the wall.  It's chock full of all the seeds I sowed last week and I'd be gutted to lose them.  Even watering in the greenhouse was more than a tad scary!  Bet the toms don't like this chilly snap.

Here in Cambridgeshire, its pretty darn windy and my eucalyptus tree is bending at alarming angles.Nextdoors parasol has broken and their hanging baskets are no longer hanging...

And my garden is full of leaves-again.
Talk to the elbow-its got a point

Wind dropped a bit, but at least we got RAIN!!! Can smell the plants growing......
Mind you, TV's gone wonky on the one night I want to watch it. B****y typical!

Yippeee! 4.50 am the rain started. About time too - I was beginning to feel that we were being left out. It looks as though it is going to last though.

How are you lot doing down south?

Going out to pick my delphs, think they are beyond repair :'( But they will look nice in a vase :) Both my water butts are filled to overflowing....yippee! Apparently lots of trees down in the area, and people were without power, but we survived, wonder how the plot did tho......................Apparently we have more to come this afternoon! Hang onto your hats :)

Phew! Well it's not as bad as I thought. Few Hollyhocks at a crazy angle but all else well. Doris my Delphs are nearly done for this year, so no cut flowers for me but at least they are still standing. Lucky with the wind direction I guess.

Noisy night. Dog HATED it!

Thrilled this morning to get three new Clematis in the post. Amazing how they recover when you put them in a pot, give them a drink and let them stretch their roots....

Haven't seen weather forecast today but gather there's more on the way? At least the garden's had a good long drink..

Love CL xx ;)

If we get much more rain we will have to grow scales, fins and gills!!!

After decades of reading the weather in my job, you might think that I could figure how the storm yesterday came from France at such speed into the teeth of a northerly gale.

And mostly missed the Cotswolds. Why do they always think that we don't need it? = Tim

Plocket

According to our local weather forecast, it is going to be sunny with clouds on Friday. Yer right - I believe that!

Give your dog another cuddle from me CL! Bless her! Hope to get my new clematis soon... Not that I would want to go outside and do gardening at the moment. I can't believe I am considering putting the heating on in JULY!!!
