I know where that is, Peter- think there might be a few others on here from Hull- Jeannine in particular, although sadly she's going back to Canada very soon.
My son graduated from Hull uni last year and lived off Newland for 2 years, and we rent out a property in that area too.

We are in Kirkham (halfway between Preston and Blackpool) and our plot is at Elswick, about 5 miles away - but the best part of Elswick is - Bond's ice-cream, a real treat after working hard on the plot!

Hiya, knottygal, welcome to a4a, look forward to hearing more from you  ;D

leralc

hello :)

I live in Selby, don't have an allotment (even though some are available in selby) because of parish council boundaries! My parish council don't have any allotments so we cant have one even though they are only a mile away and I pay more than £1700 a year in council tax.....

anyone hears of any private ones i would appreciate it :)

Thanks

Hiya, leralc, welcome to a4a  ;D
hope you get a plot soon  :)

Hi Leralc

That's rotten.  Do you have a parish council?  Write to them, and get five other people to do the same, and they have to consider your request for an allotment.  Most of your council tax goes to your borough/county council, not to your parish council.

Welcome to A4A.

The Brierton site in Hartlepool, on the North- east coast, where the Tall Ships race is coming in August (little plug there!)- just a third of a lottie which I share with a friend (since january this year), but it's just the right size and I love it!
