Yes have tried Burpless and Crystal Apple, both of which I found excellent.  I grow mine outside though but I'm sure they'll be perfectly happy indoors.

My only concern would be growing different varieties in close proximity and whether you could get cross polination and bad tasting fruit?

With the modern varieties even if you ignore them completely they still put their heart and soul into producting cukes!

Well I am certainly going in search of Marketmore next year-heard some good reviews.

Crystal Apple is OK-tends to get a bit `pippy`? if left too long?

I am more into F1s with cus to be honest

'Marketmore' always reminds me of 'Moneymaker' - without any justification!!

I've been growing Danimas, Pepita, Carmen, Passandra, Mistral, Brunex - ie mainly minis - for decades - best for the g'childrens' lunch box & never any left over bits.

All very productive & delicious &, typically, 400 cus from 8 plants.

But I got sidetracked this year by 'Mini Munch'.

Crystal apple/lemon picked small and juicy and eaten whole.  ;D

burpless as they don't give ray 'jip'  :)

Landora. I think we've tried most of them, but that's the best. (OK, discuss - but it's our favourite.) The unheated GH at the allotment was overflowing with them last year!

I'm trying Marketmore and a very small one called Cucino this year.  Not tried it before - has anyone else??

Last year we grew Petita and they were lovely.

Burpless outside last year were great, trying Diana F1 inside this yeat.

I have grown burpless, marketmore and unidentified one from a neighbour. I like marketmore the best. But on reading this thread it may be because I have not been very adventurous. I definitely will try some fo the smaller cuc's if I can get some seed. But can only grow outside as no greenhouse.

Rather than start a seperate link - anyone want to swap some winter squash seeds (I haven't about 20 different varieties) for some mini cuc seed. PM me if you do.

Thanks
Sue

I might, what squash do you have? XX Jeannine

Crystal Apple in a cold greenhouse is my fave... although I do grow White Wonder and Boothby's Blond  do we see a pale trend here?
;D

Grandma

Petita is the 'family favourite' here. I was picking up to nine a day from just two plants in the greenhouse last year for a spell! Lovely flavour - the grandsons eat them like sweets!  :)
