wonderful, wonderful weekend - have proposed and successfully won a motion (down the pub) that all weekends are four day weekends from now on.

6hrs on Fri, 5 hrs on Sat, completely over-did it, aching all day on Sunday I itching to do more but could barely move.  Still a bit stiff in places.  Got a nice light tan.

Today:Pricked out the piri piri chillies, sowed some lettuce, toms, spqing onions & sorrel. Also took a chance and pricked out leeks and sowed more just in case.

Wonderful weekend, great time was had by all - even when emptying the attic :()

Stuff cooking, the take out's due!

Had a good weekend, am absolutely knackered!

Started off slowly, then seemed to take off like a rocket. Work was manic on Saturday night, I think everyone in Hastings wanted to eat at the restaurant that night and as I am the new girl, was serving everyone downstairs. Was up and down those d**n stairs non stop for 6 hours!... But the tips weren't bad... ;D

Managed to get me spuds in on the plot, go to a carboot sale and got some more of the digging off to a good start.

Kids happy, I'm happy and OH happy.........  Not a bad life really.

Now just waiting for the scaffolding tomorrow so the repairs can be done on the roof! ::)
Smile at your enemies.

It makes them wonder what you are up to.

Yep, lovely. OH had the friday and today off so lots of park and beach with the girls. loads done at lottie, sowed peppers and chillis and some cherry toms to go in the mini greenhouse and my sweetcorn had to go into pots as they were going mad.
My lovely lottie neighbour gave me some artichoke plants and blackcurrant canes. So had to find a space for those, he just presents me with stuff and says plant it now yes? So i have to rush about clearing a space for it! Feel like i should give him stuff back, but as newbie to this don't have anything! Still, always next year, or might make him cake or something!
OH gloomy boy, back to work tomorrow.   :( I don't go back to college for 2 weeks though!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Matty, how is your little boy doing? My friends baby was in hospital for a few months after she was born. It was a very hard time as they had an older child too. Sounds like you're all doing well though. Such a fantastic day when you bring them home too!  ;D
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

It was going well until my car broke down this evening & I had to get towed home. Now, instead of a day at the plot tomorrow I'll have to arrange a tow to a garage and a (no doubt expensive) repair job. And then it's back to work on Wednesday. >:(

I had a great weekend. The weather has been stoking.  Mark has had 5 days off.  The kids have had fun.  We have dug and created a lovely new and improved pond in the garden.  We drove to Surrey and spent all day yesterday with my mum.  We have had 2 barbeques and this morning, I was on the plot by 7am for a good 5 hours work, before Mark went off on the motorbike to Southend to join in the monster biking rally there.  Spent all afternoon in my own garden, and the bonus is, the weather is going to stay fab, and I am off for another week and a bit!   Hoorah.  ;D

more digging tomorrow (not so yippee but its got to be done)

Spent the entire 4 days at Flamingo Land with the OH & kids in the caravan. So have not got one thing done at the plot..... :-\

Friday I did some spring cleaning - well, I swept the house with a withering glance.

Then, after what seems like weeks of severe and debilitating bouts of laziness, I finally dragged my sorry bits to the lottie - 9 hours on Saturday, another 8 on Sunday. As I left on Sunday evening I glanced back to look proudly at the results of all my hard work - IT DOESN'T LOOK ANY DIFFERENT!    :'(

Today I was up at the crack of dawn to get to my local Lidl's for opening time at 7am - only to find they had a problem with the shutters and couldn't open the shop. I waited an hour and a half - luckily there was a good cafe round the corner - and bought the item I'd been after, the fisherman's windbreak/ tent thing (for use as a shelter on the allotment). Got it home to find it was missing the steel tubes and tension cords and is, in fact, just a very large floppy hat.   >:(

But then tonight the offspring gave me a Ferrero Rocher Easter egg. ;D

AND I'm off all this week as well.

Harmony is now restored.

I have had the best  school holiday  break in 2 years. This is the first time I haven't had a problem, an illness,or a major happening.

I have been able to please myself about getting up, going to bed, etc.

Lottie was up to date for the first time so no frantic catch up days.

I have enjoyed it,  back to school on the 17th.........

I've had a fab Easter holiday.  Working in a school means that I've got two whole weeks off with the kids, but mine are now at the age where they want to go out and play with their mates, so I can get on with lots of jobs at home. ;)

Not having a lottie, Hubby and I have been working in the greenhouse and veg patch at home.  Planted spuds, onion sets, garlic, parsnips, peas from guttering.  Got the tomatoes, cucumber, brussels and lettuce started as well as loads of flowers.

Hubby dismantled loads of pallets yesterday, and the woods sitting ready for him to make me some more raised beds ;D ;D.

Been to mums today and tidied her garden up for her as she's not feeling too well.

All in all, so far its been a great Easter holiday as the weather has been fab, I've been outside working on some part of the garden every day.

Life couldn't be better  ;D ;)

Linda.

OliveOil

I had a fab easter!

Friday I worked on the plot from 9 am - 4.30pm and got sun burnt bot loads of work done.

Saturday went to market and got myself some strawb plants.

Sunday went to Cambridge for the first time in my life nad loved it... went on a punt which was great and really felt at home in the lovely Hippy City

Monday - housework BUT got all my ironing done

Tuesday - holidays over but started my hippy dreamin!

froglets

Really great Easter

Friday - in the garden
Saturday - in the garden, veg into pots
Sunday - in the garden  ( and a little while sat with a brew enjoying life & missing my dad, one year to the day since he suddenly died)
Monday - in the garden, lot of seeds into pots & trays
Tuesday - ( extra days hols) visited the Dorotyy Clive Garden, a bit early but lovely to have it almost to ourselves.  Then best of all, Allotment Secretary rings up and offers me a share of a plot!!!!!!

Seems one chap is having difficulty keeping on top of two plots but doesn't want to give them up as he retires in two years and they are his project, so while I wait for a full plot, I can have half of one of his - yes the out of control weed infested, swapmlike boggy clay corner, but who cares!!.  It will actually  make me feel right at home because that's what my old plot was like.
is it in the sale?

Oh well done, froglets!

As an update to my earlier post, I've got this week off, as has the offspring, and today he gave me my belated present - a full day's work at the allotment!!

Firstly he took all the pallets, and huge sheets of cardboard, I'd been collecting for ages, to the site in his van.

He dug over the part of the lottie I hadn't tackled since I got it last year  - out of what seemed like concrete and now looks like it's been farmed for years - which amounted to almost half the plot! Then he built two compost bins out of the pallets (the cardboard will be used for the lining).

Then we sat in the newly replaced fisherman's windbreak/ tent thing from Lidl and had a sumptuous feast, accompanied by a refreshing Chateau Kenco - and we saw a shrew!

When we were packing up to leave, I spotted him looking around at what he'd done and - just for a second - a hint of a proud smile crossed his face - a change from his normal 'Wot me? Dig?' expression.

Ladies and Gentleman, Son of Amazin' has taken up the cause!

(and now he'll be taking up the Radox)

If pride comes before a fall, you'll find me at the bottom of a well tomorrow (and still smiling)!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
