Got it ;D ;D ;D!!!........Yay, Im beaming ;D ;D

Its not huge but there is another one almost vacant, so we may apply for that one too. Its got a shed, its right next to the water supply and has an established, if a bit overgrown herb garden. Lots of hops, and some hazel at the bottom.

Also it has lots of ransoms in seed, so if anyone wants some just shout ;)

Im so happy, happy happy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ah yes I remember that feeling well, and every time I go to the plot I still feel glad to be there after 2 years - just wish it could be more often.

Please tell this hignoramous what is a ransom - apart from the price demanded for the release of a captive?
Smile, it confuses people.

star

Yes I meant to take the camera with me today, but forgot. I must do the before during and after shots as I will be doing a blog too.....wooo! Thanks for the link quiz ;)

;D ;D ;D I dont like to be dragged into an argument....however, seeing as its you maggie and you obviously need backup 8)

Why do elephants have big ears? Because Noddy wont pay the rans ::) ...........

Anyway......its wild garlic, normally found in woodland, edible and very pungent as you walk past....very nice :D

Grandma

 ;D ;D ;D

(Almost seems a shame to let on that the proper name for wild garlic is 'ramsens' - I like 'ransomes' much better!  ;))

star

 ;D ;D ;D Is it really ??? ?

Wow, thanks for that Grandma......its possible it might be spelled differently in different areas?

This is the yorkshire bit of me, they all spell it that way oooop there ;)

You watch, someone from yorkshire is going to come along and tell me different ;D ;D ;D

Grandma

Thought is was, star - but Googled it just to make sure!

star

It was really quick marg.....I go on the premise that it was meant to be. ;)

Everywhere else has HUGE waiting lists!

Yeah lots of lovelies under the weeds, I have been going round with a very 'simple' smile on my mush since yesterday! Made my seed and potato order last night ;D ;D

Going back to "Ransomes" Ramsbottom in Lancashire is the valley (bottom) where wild garlic grows! Far more picturesque than the town today... and I've been to Stubbins wood nearby which is still full of the stuff!
;D

star

Is it in flower then saddad? There shouldn't be too much to see at this time of year if I remember rightly.

I woulnt have known I had ransoms on my plot till I was told, There are a lot of seed heads, and a bit of foliage.....but not enough for me to realise what it was. To be honest I just thought they were onions gone to seed

saddad

Not now... Sorry I meant in recent years! It is an SSSI if I remember rightly.

Star, re electricity and gas, get your Mum to check out Staywarm, it is just for the over 60's,there is a fixed charge dependant on the size of the house and that is it, there is no adjustment at the end on the year, once going they cannot change the monthly amount unless a review (at the end of the contract)is done no matter how much you use.

Carol, I was sorry to read about your awful encounter with the traffic accident, it kind of brings us all to a halt emotionally I think.

Work is still manic for me, but I am getting a few evenings to myself now which is an improvement.

I have even managed to pick up a bit of cross stitch, I am very fond of the Amish designs and am gradually working my way through the Told In a Garden series. All have quilts in which of course I love and lots of gardening, so I feel right at home.

We almost lost one of out dogs a couple of weeks ago, but she pulled back from the brink and is fine now, I am still getting the £500 plus vets bill however.

Take care folks, will check in when I can. XX Jeannine

Star check out Staywarm for your Mums power, you pay a fixed amount per year depending on the size of the house with no adgustments, someone in the hose has to be over 60 to qualify.

Still busy at work but a wee b it more time, I have even managed to pick up a bit of cross stirch, one of my favourite Amish desins fro m Told in a Garden. lots of Qulits and gardening, makes me feel right at home.

We nearly lost one of our Pekes a couple of weeks ago, she just made it, I m not so sure about me with the £5oo plus vets bill though.

Thank goodness the fireworks have finished, I am tempting providence here but is there anyone else oput there who dislikes them as much as me !! Two kids from the same family burned this year at our school.

I will try to check in  again soon.
