Saw this on another thread....

"Dont you look a bit strange with folded up newspapers tied to your knees?"

And laughed and laughed and laughed..... ;D ;D ;D

I'm currently wearing odd shoes....well the toe's worn through in my left shoe, right ::)? so wear a blue rt gardening shoe & a damson-coloured left shoe, but, as they're both caked in mud......?

Wear a pair of "leggins"....remember them? they were advertised on a rail in the Charity shop as "leggins" & I think they're smashing..still got them in varous colours...twas abt 4 yrs. ago I could buy non-second-hand ones - becoming quite a collector's item 8)

Wear son's old T-shirts........son now a middle-aged man but eh heck! when he was a young'un they made things to last....and anyway, one day, Batman will return to our screens, right?  And I'll have the T-shirt all ready for the day ;D.....

In INCLEMENT WEATHER cover all with a Shell Suit!!!!!!! Now That was hard to find, but hey! those Charity Shops again are a Gold Mine!! Cover them with mud, rinse through and hey presto! dry as the Sahara and Ready to Go!!!!!

So what do you wear down the lottie?

growing old as disgracefully as me it sounds  ;D

I wear husband's old shirts, worn out leggings (bought new  :P), wellies or 30 year old levi trainers and when it's cold a very old wooly hat bought in new york - I probably look a real mess but am at my happiest then  :)

No chance of a photo I suppose ...  :D

I wear old clothes that can be put in the bin when they become TOO raggy looking. Trousers are ex employment issue, as is footwear. Oldest possible T shirts, and a jumper that is now 33 years old ...
For inclement weather, I have my old ex BAOR combat jacket, difficult to see the camouflage now, and will disintegrate if washed ...

Just add to that a fleecy hat, gloves and of course knee pads ...  ;D
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Old tracksuits here and worn out trainers or wellies, but I have one of those waistcoats with 20 pockets to carry all the stuff i need with me. I mean when you have keys, penknife, phone, bacca, one of those digital voice recorders and half a dozen other things the elastic waisted t/s bottoms tend to fall down on the job, if you know what I mean. When it's too hot for the waistcoat I use a joiner's nail pouch for the above . Much less boring is an elderly couple two plots down. He always wears shirt, tie and a smart jacket and his wife a long flowing dress and makeup.

Geoff.
You can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can't upset them all at once either.

Summer Wear - thin strap top covered over with OH's old blue striped shirt. Shorts - whatever is handy.  If I'm digging then its the boots, otherwise old trainers.  When sunny, the factor 40 Boonie hat tops off the look!

Winter Wear - Old Levi's - holes in waist band, knees and a new hole in the seat :o if very cold 2 or 3 t-shirts/long sleeve tops and a fleece, with an assortment of marks down the front, so it looks dirty even when its clean.

When I'm pruning the blackberries - OH old rig overalls - bright red - think LaLa from the Teletubbies ;D

Im a slave to fashion myself and I would not be seen dead in overalls. Tanktop and shorts with yellow wellies. I do have a nice pair of braces to hold my trousers up as I suffer from builders bum. I picked up a nice pair of gucci loafers at a charity shop and I sometime wear them when doing light duties

From the bottom up..........Brasher Boots (15 years old and split) with pink laces, bargain zip off leg walking trousers from Aldi, and yesterdays T shirt.
In the hot weather I found it cooler to wear a cotton scarf turban style than a hat. Fielded lots of comments about 'land army' but I just don't care, do you?

Not sensible at all H! The mud will seep through your toes with those silly shoes!

Nothing wrong with the rest of it, health and safety to the fore...nothing would hurt if you were to fall over with all that hair!!

;)

Robert_Brenchley

I just wear filthy old jeans, wellies and an equally filthy jacket. The family all turn their noses up at it all.
