I have a friend who's been umming and ahhing about putting his name down for an allotment this past year so for his birthday tomorrow I have given him a veg box to hopefully change his mind. 27 different veg (tho I count onions as 4). Hopefully will bring him to the fold.

Possibly hard to tell but this box is 26" long

Couldn't get the lettuce and the chard in the box so it's standing in the sink overnight.

Prize for naming all 27, answers on a £10 note to
Ian Gould
The moon etc etc

Spectacular. What a great gift idea... I'm sure your friend will be knocked out.

Hyacinth

......or he'll be knocking you out, glow, in his haste to scrump your plot?

WHAT a fabbo present 8) and yes, I'm sure that, if he was umming about having a lottie, he'll be ahhing all the way to the sign-up. Gosh, that looks SO attractive. Lucky friend.

..... unless he tales exception to the odd wee beastie that may be lurking!

Wow, I'd love to have a gift like that! The pot marigold is a very nice touch! :)

saddad

That would do it for me... but as I have five I think I am already converted..
;D

This is certainly what the 'general' public envisage as the benefits of an allotment, ie being able to have that produce 'at your fingertips'. Of course, the other benefits are more subtle .... good exercise and healthy environment, excellent de-stressing, economical ...

Yes, a good gift !
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Having done it for teachers, I agree, a fab gift, very welcome.  It looks beeeutiful!

Excellent idea and much better than socks.

I had the idea of something similar last week-  to prepare a box for a silent auction in aid of our community centre.  Only I dont think I'll manage 27 different varieties.

What a great idea! And well done for growing such a range of veg- I reckon I could only offer about 5 at the moment!

This year it's squash.
