Just love the glut season.  Picking huge amounts of lovely fruits and veg, spending hours ploughing through recipe books trying to think of new and interesting ways of serving runner beans and courgettes.  Just a couple of snaps, the rest are on my blog!  ;D

;D

I was a glutton in among my rasps. yesterday evening, KP. Stuffed myself silly.

Fab pix EJ of Fab veggies. Particularly envy you your runners - got a sinking feeling that if I can't cure the on-going blackfly problem they're going to be my Disaster this year :'(

Mrs Ava

Sorry Eric.  :-[

Runners are Enorma, sown in pots (by the urchins) mid April, planted out first week of May.  Covered in flowers and young beans!  ;D

The fruits are rasps, black currants, red currants and jostaberrys.

Courgettes were something like black prince....  ???

And however send me the seeds for The Prince dwarf French beans, I would like to say a huge Thanks!!  Wow, for such wee plants, they are smothered in lovely long smooth beans.  A must for next year!  :D

I am glutting on the courgettes, 8 in the fridge and due to pick again tomorrow :o Like you, I LOVE it! Courgette cake this week me thinks! ;)

Is that the chocolate one DP? I've never tried it but long to!

(love the emoticom SS!)

Just in from the garden....to avoid a glut of anything, I purposely sowed just a few less of everything. Now find that I've got super-abundant green beans (various colours), courgettes, lettuces, cucs, chillies, swiss chard, fennel.....on and on.....and I'm not hungry. Totally go off food when there's so much of it about.

Cept I'd kill for fish and chips at the mo :o

And runner bean plants still giving me concern :'(

Lovely pictures Ej - I love gluts too

great to share produce with friends

and enjoy my favourite foods - summer pud and tian de courgettes

enjoy yours too

Mrs Ava

Made a pig of myself tonite with the largest courgette....sliced thinly, brushed with olive oil, pepper and placed on a searing hot griddle pan until just caramilsing....placed on kitchen paper and sprinkled with a little Maldon salt - well, tis local to me so it would be wrong not to...then as they cooled, I scoffed the lot!  :P

EJ. Well I did type a post but it has gone!!! Anyhow great pics Emma. I had my first feed of Enorma this evening, not as big as yours but I couldn't wait ;D I don't seem to have many flowers, I am wondering if they are in a to exposed position. The wind does blow hard here in the Fens. What do you think? I had a well prepared  area and it was filled with well rotted horse manure. Thought I had done everything right.
Lorna

Mrs Ava

It could be the wind Lorna, but on the other hand, it is still quite early.  Old Jack on our site, his runners are only half way up the poles and he only has a few flowers.  Mine we mollycoddled so they had a good start.

lorna

Thanks Emma. Mine have reached top of canes. Maybe I will still get some more flowers. Runner beans are one of my favourite veg.. I don't eat root veg except carrots raw but I do love all green veg.. If I don't get an improvement this year will plan for a different bit of garden next year. I am limited because of my small garden.
Regards Lorna.

Mrs Ava

If they are at the top Lorna, pinch the tips out, this will encourage them to bush up and then you will get even more flowers!  ;D

lorna

Emma Thanks once again. I have been out and done that.
