What a lovely idea. Happy Birthday from me too Your Majesty.

Absolutely. Is it her Official B'day or the Real B'day?

Saw 10 days that made the Queen last night.  One of the last comments by the interviewees (not the younger, blue eyed, rather attractive one) was that the monarchy would crumble and be no more post HM.  Have to disagree as each heir has their position and responsibility drummed into them from birth. May have a reluctant King in William, tho'.

Yes, Happy 80th Birthday to the Queen Elizabeth 11! I hope she has a lovely day! I am not a great Royalist, but you can't help admiring her for the dedication and strength she has shown during her reign.  Not sure how things will work out once she has gone, but she has done a magnificant job.  :) busy_lizzie
live your days not count your years

Don't even get me started on this .... ok, too late!

One of my customers told me off this morning for not standing up as the national anthem was played (there was about 300 people about, why me?!)  At the very least, she said, you should not be doing anything but paying respects.  Went on to say that in her day - IN LONDON (am not in London now) people would immediately stop what they were doing and stand up/stand still/pay their respects.  I come from London, as do my parents and I don't remember that.  I mumbled something about not being a royalist, didn't feel I wanted to stand up (pointed out that I only do that in November.  Pay respects that is, not stand up) All of a sudden lots of them were arguing between themselves that the East End is no longer the East End, it's full of ... .... .... .... (insert your own lingo, I wouldn't like to use theirs) At which point I left them to it - with lip firmly bitten beneath top teeth.  It's time to change jobs & leave the manners of Joe Public to someone else!

Well, am certainly no royalist but Happy Birthday Queenie!  ;D

Just been listening to Queenie's birthday fireworks.  They are having a grand time across the river at Kew.

The noise was so loud, that several neighbours were on their doorsteps (including us)  could see the colours over the tops of the houses.  If I could be bothered to put on my shoes and walk down to the river, the scene would probably be pretty spectacular - and they are still going on.............

EJ. Apparently one of the Kings (not sure but think it was Edward 7th) whose true birthday was in November decided that it was such a miserable month for a birthday, not sure if it was for consideration of the crowds that he made June(?) an official  birthday... hence two birthdays.

MrsKP

I don't care what the knockers say, she's ours and she's great and puts a darn site more effort into each day than is reasonable or necessary for a lady of her age.

Happy Birthday Your Majesty and long may you reign !

To true K P, well said, you only have to look at the crowds to see how well loved she is bless her. ;D ;D

Mrs Ava

Charming!  My birthday is in November and I think it is a great month for a birthday...but if I could have another, then I think a spring time one would be super!  ;D

Glad the babies are sprouting Kev.  Mine are now in the greenhouse.  Great stuff!  ;D

lilylover

Well I'm happy to wish her Happy Birthday. If she turns out to be half as good as her mam than that ain't half bad  ;D
