-10 here!!!!!!

Almost got mobbed by the birds this morning when I went out to feed them!!!! Fingers were sooooo cold when I came in that they hurt.

Going to make myself a cuppa and then find another layer of clothes to wear.

Think I might just hibernate until spring.  :P

I'm going to hurl food for them out of the bedroom window.....trying to miss my neighbour.. mind you, she's getting very good at ducking.. ;D
This afternoon, I'm off for another blessed walk...though it should be beautiful by the river...think of me shivering my butt...erm...toes off.. :-\

Delilah

-7 at the stables this morning, don't the cobwebs look fabby though :)
If you don't make mistakes, you'll never make anything!

My greenhouse crops were frozen under their fleece  :o
I travelled to a mystical time zone
but I missed my bed
so I soon came home

Down here where i am in Dorset, we dont often get what most of you would call a 'hard' frost (by which i mean lower than -5c). Lowest temperature in recent years in this area was reported as -8c.

Last night my greenhouse thermometer recorded an outside temperature of (wait for it)...

-8.4 C !!

Even the inside greenhouse temperature (with heat) was -1 c!

I cannot steel myself to garden in the mornings now, it is so blessed cold, and then I cannot get warm again. Perhaps an hour of hedgework in the afternoons ... but there so many other things that I can do here in the warm, get my wine on, sort my seeds etc. Grrr, I just feel guilty wasting all this useful time ...

Robert_Brenchley

It's freezing here too, though I haven't been in the shed to check the thermometer. I did nip down to the allotment quickly to take some pics. Three other people were down as well, one feeding his chickens, one immured in his shed and the other to meet a tree surgeon about pruning her ancient apple trees.

Just had our first snowfall down here. Only about a centimetre (1/3 inch), if that, but enough to bring the kids out to play on it.

Mrs Ava

Fab pics Robert.  The world is a pretty place when dusted with snow!

Robert_Brenchley

It looks nice, but working in it's no joke, as I know from experience!

Derekthefox

I agree with both of your comments, it makes nice pictures, but the environment is a sod to work in ...

Yellow Petals

Robert, you should put up those piccies in the gallery for people to have a look at, they are lovely.

rosebud

Fab pitures please put them in the gallery Robert. ;D

rosebud

OPPPPPPPs sorry about the spelling, fab pictures.

Bitterly cold here again, and really blizzarding......not playing today, just watching with nose pressed against the wndow and drawing patterns in the mist where breathing....I'm never bored.. ::)

Derek

We were supposed to have ice more snow and then another dollop of ice

What have we got...rain...lots of it ...most of the snow has gone already

I am in my own little world, ...it's OK, ...they know me there!

Robert_Brenchley

I'll sort some more pics out and shove them in the gallery in a bit.

Garden Manager

Well thats that over with. Back to mild and soggy again. ::) ::) ::)

You know i think i much rather wake up to sun and frost than dark clouds and wet any day. It looks soooo depressing out the window today :(.
